Steff, Milo, and Gareth enjoy looking back at the demolition of Everton, running the rule on new signing Wilson Odobert, trying to determine just how good Micky van de Ven is, and pontificating on Ange’s baking skills; he’s now able to add eggs to his cakes and oh how sweet they are! Confused? You won’t be, just tune in.

A Positive Pod About A Frustrating Result
Season 5 Episode 9

Steff and Milo reflect on the 2-1 defeat to Saudi Sportswashing Machine, look at the positives from a dominant performance while expressing frustrations. We look back at the transfer window, discuss how Lange and crew did and mark our homework on our end of season squad review. Plus we place our first coffee bet of the season. Plenty of laughs, lots to be optimistic about (and yes, a little frustration too)

Listening to the pod whilst in a cab at Warsaw airport
Steff nails it. The lack of conviction and pace in the passing was horrendous. It was as bad as I’ve ever seen even when we were really broken
It’s as if no one wants to try the hard ball

I reckon results would have to be very bad up until January for it even to be a question in terms of Ange. Teething problems as Milo says don't just suddenly disappear immediately after the first season and there's a lot of talent settling in.

The best thing for now to play lots of football and it will click, there's more competition across the pitch with loads of players wanting minutes to stake a claim.

Great listen as always gents, excellent points in particular in reference to the "noise" from @milo about it being a long term thing, yesterday wasn't awful and it's just one game.

I was moaning a bit in reference to the performance, in terms of it being quite uninspired albeit against strong opposition but the outlook is better long term. Some positive results + the momentum that comes with them with performances from young players and things will feel a lot rosier..

Another good pod, I enjoyed it whilst sitting in the sunshine on a day off.

Hopefully we will revert to mean i.e. our good *stats* will eventually result in good points, whereas other teams are currently getting undeserved points when playing badly which will hopefully revert to their mean of poor points.

I noticed that Duran lashed in a thunderous shot at the weekend, whereas Deki's thunderous shot went whistling over.
I do wonder if Deki only shot like that because it was right at the end of the game, IMO we need more players to take thunderous shots to cause chaos and deflections, otherwise the Arse held us at arm's length.
