The Cricket Thread

Just heard a journalist talking about how England are doing there bit to play Test cricket but other countries are still lacking.
Apparently we have 11 Away tests scheduled for 2024 alone, Yet Australia only have 6 tests abroad scheduled for the next 3 years!!

At the moment they are the team people want to see.

This has got to be the greatest test series I've ever seen. This England team has shown so much belief in themselves and their coach, for years I've seen good players fold like wet cardboard in similar situations. We outmachoed (is that a new word) the Aussies and at times had them clueless.
I think it's the best I've ever seen, even better than 2005.
It just kept giving and giving, I've forgotten how many times I thought a match was over for it to then be turned on it's head.
I was so disappointed with how it finished at Old Trafford and wasn't sure I'd be up for this one but wow!! What a match and what a finish. And Broad with his new bails superstition to bow out like that.
Sensational!!

Aussies claiming the change of ball caused the loss. Nothing to do with being beaten by the better side. Ricky pointing wants an investigation into how England got a newish ball. Love it when they start scrambling for excuses.

Whining Aussies complaining to me about the change of balls. It either goes through the ring or it doesn't. They had none when they swapped balls and took wickets in the last test.

ICC and ECB money making that, only 3 test nations make any money anymore and thats Us, Aussie and India, so we get pimped out to raise the commercial value whilst making a fortune ourselves.

I love my cricket but thats the one series thats kept me interested every session, never have I been stuck to it like this one. Incredible way we play, yeh its risky at times but it is exciting and it forces the issue and mistakes from the opposition, it also kills others mentally, the Aussies looked cooked in some session.

The guy was also saying that Australia are awash with money and have no excuses to not be playing away tests in places like Bangladesh etc.

Problem is, its half our decision, the ECB like it because they make the money, I think its probably more a case of we play too much cricket as a team for hire than the Aussies not doing enough. Our schedule on its own is silly
