I think most were praying for us to be in for him but had never seen him. It wasn't that long ago that loads of people were creaming themselves about how we should make a move for Gomez. Now having watched Gomez I do agree that he will always score goals, but he brings fudge all else to the team!

What else do you need besides goals from a striker? Guy gets it done. Good enough for me.

If Dzeko is so poor, who on earth is good enough for us? Can't think of that many better strikers out there and there are a few clubs bigger than us at the moment.

Dzeko is class. Don't act like you wouldn't prefer him over our usual strikers.

I seriously wouldn't. I genuinely don't get what the fuss is about. But then again from day one I didn't get the fuss about Pav either, and yet he was loved on here and rated as world class by a couple of posters (this is going back to when he first signed). So I am often in the minority on my views! I remember the time I dared to suggest that Davies, Etherington and Gardner wouldn't make it with us and I literally got called a **** by several posters and got hate mail in my inbox

Ade would do me over Dzeko for starters. Thing is, until we find out who the Manager is and what system they play we just don't know. But there is no way that Dzeko can play as a lone striker in a 4-5-1 IMHO.

Yeah, but they aren't foreign, so they're clearly not good enough. Don't be an idiot.

Dzeko and Ade both have the touch of a rapist, but at least once Ade does have control he looks to be in charge of the ball rather than the opposite for Edin. Both play with heart though.

In reply to that. Sorry

Having just spent some time on "THFC6061's" site, the "PL goals/assists 2011/12" stats on Dzeko make pretty interesting reading. It is no surprise to discover that RVP was top of the list. The next "Spurs" player on the list was Adebayor (in 4th), with 17 goals and 12 assists. Gareth Bale was 7th with 10 goals and 11 assists. Edin Dzeko was 9th, with 14 goals and 9 assists. In a Emirates Marketing Project team with so many attacking options, I honestly believe that Dzeko's return is pretty impressive. With a decent run in the side and some some decent service, I think he would be great addition to our squad.

You know he's signed a contract, you know when the announcement will be made, but strangely enough you dont know which team.

Yes, yes and far from strangely yes?

That's what I was told, I considered it very reliable and so I posted it here, along with my opinion on it. My bad if information on a possible transfer of ours doesn't apply in the transfer rumour thread. ;)

No hard feelings though mate, I even see that Ganter's just posted that he's heard that Gylfi is still mulling over the offers, which contradicts what I was told yesterday. All signs keep pointing towards Spurs here in Iceland though, but as we've seen with the Verthongen saga, I'll believe it when I see the official statement.

Does seem that Real Madrid are ready to put Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin into the mix as a potential part-exchange element of deal for Tottenham's Luka Modric. Whether Spurs are interested is another issue but if Andre Villas-Boas model of rotating central trio in 4-3-3 is to be instituted the former Dortmund man would potentially work. Think Modric departure is inevitable, come what may. No doubt chairman Daniel Levy would prefer to sell to Madrid than either Chelsea or Manchester United.

What I will say in defence of POTL was that he got quite a few things right when he first came on the scene. But then he got too big for his boots and is giving ITK every other day and as a result his record has diminished....

If you are right I'll donate one whole pound to GG. If he doesnt sign at the weekend, you donate one pound.

Investment info from a guy called 'The guvnor' on the tottenhamhotspurs.tv itk forum

Greetings all, new here, have some bits of info regarding future of our beloved thfc - take as you wish....

The Qatar investment authority is interested in investing in the club, there are other parties also interested as you will already be aware. Looking at around 300m , Daniel stays chair

I don't know who the manager will be, but if it's AVB, he isn't Daniels first choice. The process to replace Harry started ages ago, over a year, when Capello told fa he was going after euro 2012 and Harry was assumed in line by all and sundry. There were at least 2 preferred and top choices before AVB even went to chelski (yes Daniel does plan ahead, well ahead) and Daniel was in contact with one of them until recently. Obviously the PR will be different but that's why there are the stories of shortish contract and restricted compensation etc....bottom line is its a bit of a gamble....shame it never worked out with either top 2 guys , would have set the place on fire...such is football

Nothing earth shattering but will be back if hear anything of interest
