Politics, politics, politics

IMO, the only thing that will be remembered from this debate will be that May has chosen to hide behind the skirt of Rudd.

True. Based on what I've seen I don't think Corbyn's going to come out of it any better off though, as I thought he may a few hours ago.

There are too many people and a weak moderator. This election is a 2 horse race, I'd like to see a debate in the way that they had them in France, between Macron and LePen. Who gives a phuck what Nuttall or Leanne Wood has to say?

In my experience, people who don't work and sit on benefits don't really have a political affiliation, they don't vote for anyone and don't give a sh1t. Same as a lot of people I work with to be honest. Though there is a lad at my work who told me today he's going to vote for Corbyn and it's the first time he's voted, other than the EU referendum (he voted leave in that).

Osborne doing acid does make some sense...

Apparently Osbornes brother is a right wrongun. Very interesting guy my acupuncturist.

I can't wait to get all this totally free stuff that Corbyn is promising, I reckon he is hoping that the world ends soon so Labour don't have to pay anything back

"Magic money tree" -- this quote is the sure sign of an absolute qunt. (Apologies to any of you fine gentlemen here who may have said it, not aimed at Spurs fans obviously).

I found his closing statement particularly amusing, when he spoke of freeing young people of debt rather than saddling them with it...

It's not free, it's paid for out of raising corporation tax (which will still be lower than any of the other countries in the G7 currently) and for raising taxes on the top 5% of earners. They have costed their plans in their manifesto and even those that disagree with the costings, such as the IFS, say that the tax changes could raise a further £40 billion per year (Labour's costings think they will raise £49 billion per year).

Stop the banks and credit card companies and firms like Wonga lending them ridiculous amounts of money
Be like we was in the old days, you want something you save up for it rather than getting it on HP all the time

I was actually broadly supportive of the Tory party plan to reduce the social care budget. We need to have an adult debate about public sector funding and better targeting of money. The NHS funding as a proportion of GDP is lower than several of our European and American neighbours, schools are suffering from budget cuts that mean they are losing teachers, local authorities are on their knees. The elderly living longer will inevitably mean that they will have to contribute longer for their care. The middle classes are conservatives when it t comes to paying tax but when it comes to social care are prepared to rely on the state rather than look after themselves first.

Then the other parties opportunistically attacked the Tory plan labelled it the "dementia tax" so the Tories, as usual, panicked and u-turned. I am struggling to decide who to vote for. I am naturally left leaning but don't think either Corbyn or the odious Tim Farron are competent to run the Country, while May has spent the campaign complacently believing she can do and say anything and still win. Her brexit posturing at the start of the campaign was cringeworthy, her whole strategy has been to highlight that she is not Jeremy Corbyn. Yet we have absolutely no evidence that she will be a better negotiator.

Seems to me that we are in quite a mess.
