Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

getting ready for an election, has to appeal to his base

See its funny because you actually win elections by appealing to centre of the opposition party. When it comes down to it, you generally don't have to worry about your own flank.

Hence why Labour are currently all flirting with the CBI and saying we'll have a state owned energy company but wont fully nationalise. They are taking over the centre, as well as the left.

I know its a Corbynista term that was proven gonad*s, but the Sue Gray appointment might actually be 4D chess from Starmer.

The Tory objection to it is basically "this can't be allowed, she knows about all of the crime we committed".

To see Rees-Mogg and all the other dimmest of the Tory dim lining up today to talk about corruption, ethics and morality was beyond parody. And, as ever, brick-For-Brains Johnson nowhere to be seen in Parliament; content to let his lackeys do his bidding.

Ha ha some very good lines in there. I particularly enjoyed
"[Hanrooster] is a sub-Partridge skid mark on the gusset of Tory government"

Old Lineker standing back from MOTD for a while due to dingygate

Ian Wright rowing in behind him. Haven't been too close to this issue beyond the headlines but have huge respect for both of them for this. Lots of people like virtue signalling until it impacts them negatively and they soon stop. Lineker hasn't to be fair and hats off to him for it.

Wright is officially a roosterwomble because of his Woolwich connections but he really does seem like a top bloke to be fair.

yeh I take my hat off to them for taking a stand that impacts them in the pocket and work, shows it can be done

Agree totally on Ian Wright. Always very fair about us, and he heaped praise on us in (what will soon be known as the first) Poch era.

The Lineker thing is ridiculous. He’s not allowed to express an opinion on social media due to it apparently showing bias. However, it’s absolutely fine for the Director General of the BBC to arrange a loan for Boris Johnson of £800,000 just before he is - entirely coincidentally - appointed to the job.

Alex Scott stating she's not interested in replacing Lineker with a Sanders meme.

Joe Lycott confirming he is very much available for tomorrow's MOTD presenting duties. This is all so wonderfully British.
