Watched the first episode of Boardwalk Empire. Feel like its going to be awesome. If anyone can carry a series its Steve Buscemi. Dunno how HBO can keep their quality so high. Greatest channel ever.

They don't skimp on the production costs, the pilot for Boardwalk Empire cost them $20m ALONE, lord knows how much a season costs. Each season of Game of Thrones for example costs them around $50m+.

It works a treat, what with the subscription to watch the channel they must also sell tonnes of Blu Ray / DVDs and sell their shows all over the globe. They also do Boxing PPV's etc... they must be worth a feckin' MINT.

For me its the acting and writing though, I'm sure they aren't cheap either.

HBO is a pay subscription channel unlike the mainstream networks e.g. abc, Fox, NBC. Which also means they can get away with showing nudity and swearing.

Larry David chose to go to HBO so he would be allowed more creative control that you don't get from the other networks, AMC for example have tried to make budget cuts to some of their shows like The Walking Dead despite its popularity, which led to them firing Frank Darabont over "creative differences." They also tried to cut the number of episodes of Breaking Bad.

Thank you HBO for allowing Larry David to give us the "beloved c*nt" episode :D

New nature show starts on 520 Discovery HD at 9pm North America made by the same people who do Attenborough's shows

=D>

I think "guy out of Casino Royale who I can't remember the name of right now" is my favourite Hannibal.

I'm watching it thinking, brick, I'd really trust this guy.

I think ep 3 goes further in supporting the theory that he is manipulating others to do his bidding.

Its a difficult show to watch isnt it, you have to 100% focus on it, superb though

Only watched three episodes so far, and it has maintained the level of the previous series (although I never doubted that)

The only gripe I have is Seth Rogan. Thought his part has been rubbish. Should stick to playing fat, loner stoners

I know I'm late to the party, but as I have little time for TV at the moment I've just discovered QI. Really enjoyable 30 mins of light Telly.

Is he the guy with the curly hair? He's brilliant. Looks as though he's not trying at all to be funny which just makes him even funnier.

In the later series it looks as though he is painfully trying to be funny, jumps on a lot of other people's laughs. Great show. Stephen Fry is a geezer
