The Grey reminded of the movie Alive although I preferred Alive I did like the Grey. I like Neeson - very underrated actor.

Keep going......

Unless you are just referring to Idris Elba being in it

Unfortunately I am just referring to that bloke being in it, always weird seeing people out of the wire on other things I find. Get sucked so much in to the characters it's hard for them to be anyone else. Only just found out that the bloke is British, props to him!

Best of the day for me though was;

Loose Change - An American Coup 8.5/10

Haven't watched a 9-11 docufilm for a few years.

George Bush ''You can fool some of the people all the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on'' Gridiron Club, March 2001

Get the parasites behind bars so we can have a better tomorrow.

saw Prometheus earlier, not sure what to make of it if im honest - too many things bugged me about it

I guess you're referring to the 'Alien' films?!

Don't know how tongue-in-cheek the smiley was, but it wasn't really a prequel to those films as such. Inasmuch as the focus of the story was not the aliens themselves.

Yeah that's what I meant, I'm not sure what you mean though, it's most definitely a prequel in my opinion.

EDIT : http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0252961/

Check out the stuff he has been in!

Have you seen it? The focus of the story was the 'engineers' rather than the aliens; the former don't appear in the Alien films do they? There was still loads of Engineer-related stuff to explore in a potential sequel.

I agree that it was a prequel in that it's set in the same universe as the Alien films, and the events happen before those of the Alien films, but the stories aren't directly related.

Yeah I've seen it. My thoughts are in white as they may be spoilers to a certain degree. Don't read if you haven't seen.

Yeah the focus of the story was Engineers, and the Aliens were essentially created by them, intentionally or not. Military base used to make WOMD which goes wrong and is left untouched for two thousand years, and then the humans come and poke around and the result is that one of the beings that the woman incubated (planted by David) inside her uses the surviving Engineer as a vessel to create the new species of Aliens. The stories are very much related in my opinion.

Can you say what without giving away spoilers? I'm interested in hearing others' thoughts on the film.

have you seen it ?

firstly, for me, the characters were all pretty unlikable or annoying, i didn't really find myself caring for any of them, couldn't work out who we was meant to be cheering for.

the story line, whilst pretty good, seemed to gloss over the important stuff all too quickly. several inaccuracies along the way, few plot holes etc - it felt really dumbed down in places/bordering on insulting actually - the more i think it about it the more let down i feel. a good movie to watch in the cinema with 3D and the effects and all that but as another part of the Alien franchise it has fallen well short

id agree with Spinter that it was most definitely a prequel - id imagine there's a sequel lined up to further the questions that were left unanswered

it's defo a prequel - id imagine there will be 1 or 2 more movies exploring this side of the story and which will bring us full circle almost to where we were with the original

Prometheus looked overrated from the start. It raises the suspense and tension in the trailers but the end product is a let down. I will watch it cos im curious and see what the fuss is about but its not my type of movie to start off with.

I prefer not to watch trailers as they usually give away all the decent stuff and does not represent the full film in the slightest.

porn trailers are pretty accurate in representing the gist of the movie.

The thing with porn is - you know the ending before its begun.

Anyone seen Rat Race? with Rowan Atkinson? Im watching it now (recorded it from Four Film) very good film
