Next Manager?

I don't know the reason it broke down, there's loads of possibilities. As I said already, maybe it was Conte stringing Levy along in an effort to see if there was any bigger jobs available. I'm not saying that is what happened but is is just as feasible as anything else that's been spouted on here

I think we do know the reasons it broke down. The reasons are obvious and don’t require any logical leap based on the characters involved. The reasons are entirely consistent with both sides’ standing in the game.

Jeez I'm kicking myself now, I waded through 30 pages of utter crap to see if anything interesting had happened, and it is just the same people having the same toxic discussion over and over.

Last night I listened to a podcast from last year, with Pochettino explaining his methods of man management and how he can sense people's positivity level from their handshake

It's worth a listen, although as usual Poch waffles on in vague terms about emotion and magic, so as usual I fell asleep and had to listen again this morning.

The problem with another project is that we went through a five year one with nothing to show. We can have as many projects as we want; until we start getting our business done early in windows, and pick up our first choice players, we’re not going to win anything.
Well the baron spell will continue. That’s not how we operate . Especially this season. We have no manager to even express targets needed. It’s a shambles. Just worried we are going to end up with Martinez . If that’s the case I would rather Potter .

If we sign Martinez we might as well give up.

Not sure why martinez would leave belgium with the world cup next year. If he's sacked don't see us going for him. Really think that is just a name the media and betting companies have thrown in. Although could obviously be wrong.

We seem desperate. That’s why I worry. His name has popped up again today. It was in that rag the daily mail.

If the new dof is coming in, he'll be the one making manager suggestions and going and getting them.

The fans seem desperate. There's loads of managers out there that would happily join us.

A world class manager in his prime was available. We talked to him it didn't work out. People would be complaining if we didn't talk to him.

As you must surely appreciate, there is a difference between talking to him…and making him a front runner, briefing that, and then having it fall down for entirely predictable reasons. No one would have had any issue if we just spoke to him.

Seems not . It’s a mess . We should have one appointed by now . Said manager should be assessing the state of our squad and we should be looking to be selling and signing players.

We are behind. Again. Levy has mad a mess of the footballing side of the club.

We gave him a job interview as we have with other managers. So far it doesn't seem like it will work for whatever reason. Who's to say that wont change?

Yes the media have made a drama out of it. That's their job to sell stories. Everything has to be a drama.

Is Levy the highest paid chairman in the league? My recollection, which is a bit hazy, is that he was for one year because he got paid a bunch of backdated bonuses in that year. Think it was around the time the stadium was built.

Ok…just a job interview…absolutely nothing more interesting to come out of the news about the level of our ambition as a club, how ready we are to compete…anything like that? Just a job interview…no big deal?

I think this whole episode says a lot about our standing in the game and our ambition.

It's a mess in such it was played out in the media and we'll get some grief over it. We should have sorted it out before hand. It's also a mess because it looks like levy can't make up his mind. Psg and ajax triggering extensions made it more difficult (expensive) to get those managers.

But we will get a manager in.

Media do what they do . It’s nothing new. This is a mess of Levy’s making. PSG and Ajax need to handle their own business and our very well paid chairman needs to handle ours. It’s not happening. No manager , Kane leaving , average squad.

Martinez , Southgate . Both managers and both not what we want or need.

2nd under woodward. On £3m a year. But you know that city's chairmen will be getting money off the books. Probably a couple of others aswell to help with ffp.

This ‘episode’? We have held discussions with managers we would potentially be interested in working with, same as happens in any other industry. Nothing beyond that, if you want to get suckered into the ‘noise’ then that’s up to you. Please don’t tell me Ali Gold is some great connection from inside the club because it’s been proved time and time again he isn’t.

As for ambition, we looked to see if it could work with one of the top coaches in the game right now - two if you count Poch. Forgive me for thinking that’s more ambitious than just going straight to Potter at Brighton and seeing if we can attract him….

Unfortunately, it does follow a pattern of our involvement with potential ‘big’ player signings which stall at the last moment. Gives the impression that we want to compete without having to shell out the sums of money necessary to really be involved at the top end.
