Next Manager?

I can not/do not disagree with a lot of that and like everyone else i wished we has secured a new manager and we can start looking at the LOT of work we need to do for next season. My point is that there is no point in anyone frothing at the mouth about it ( not saying its you who is).

Levy has gone from saying the new manager will be in before the end of the season to the mess we are in now.

Euros start in a week, how much work can be done then?

We have been in the top 4 spend wise since the opening of the stadium.

Conte might have been a statement, but nobody knows what he was looking for. If it's unrealistic and he expects us to do the work of 3-4 windows in one window, won't work with youth (and it looks like we have some potentially special players) then he is not the right fit.

All of that would have been known before wasting a week on talks.

When did levy say we'd have a new manager before the end of the season?

This was from the end of season
We shall focus on the recruitment of a new Head Coach. We are acutely aware of the need to select someone whose values reflect those of our great Club and return to playing football with the style for which we are known – free-flowing, attacking and entertaining – whilst continuing to embrace our desire to see young players flourish from our Academy alongside experienced talent.

Is it fair to say that we're down to our 5th choice?

Nagelmann, Rodgers, Poch, Conte,....

Personally I'd go for Potter rather than ETH

We supposedly spoke to ETH before 3 of those you listed so does that make him our 2nd choice?

Could it be we're just speaking to all the candidates before making a decision?

It's fair to say levy wants a yes man, so when he ultimately fails at not delivering with levys budget buys and stupid transfers, a ready made spacegoat is at hand. Unless we get super lucky.

Fans get distracted about the real issue, which is levy and point the finger at the manager ... levy stays on and repeats.

GHod knows, but its verging on becoming a joke. Obviously better to get the right man in 2 weeks longer, than right man sooner (and that might apply to Conte), but its not as if we dont really need to do any business this summer........

I can see it being Martinez at this rate . I’d be on the phone to Potter if I were Levy.

Potter would be mad to take it now. The fan base is massively split (you only have to read the posts on here - and this is a civilised forum). The press are going to be poised for whoever takes it now; a couple of dodgy results and they will be all over us after this farce. If it’s a so-called ‘lesser’ manager it could get nasty pretty quickly - both in the papers and in the stadium.

The fan base has been massively split for over 10 years. But winning solves everything. Poch won enough that some forgot to be angry for a bit.

Yes they will be on us . Brought it on ourselves. Still think he’s the man for us . A project, a proper new generation of coach.

Wonder whether levy will move for another short-term manager? Conte was never going to be around for longer than a year or two..

Nagelsmann, Rodger and Poch were potentially long-term managers. Wondering whether if Levy cant get the right long-term manager which he wants, then he'll look for someone who realistically wont be around long-term as a stop-gap. No idea who that is mind you....

The problem with another project is that we went through a five year one with nothing to show. We can have as many projects as we want; until we start getting our business done early in windows, and pick up our first choice players, we’re not going to win anything.

There is no such thing as a long term manager anymore. A study in March showed that the average premier league manager is in charge for 69 games. Most coaches won’t be here for more than 2-3 years….
