Harry Kane MBE

*The relationship is two way. That performance was a disgrace and you dont ask fans to see the bigger picture. He should learn from what Poch did.

Jesus, he is what, twenty-one? Twenty-two? Hurting himself. Trying to find a bright spot. And guess what, looking at the H&H interview, he absolutely learned/knows.

I cannot wait for the Euros as it will blow away the disappointment of this finish and allow us to move on. I have no doubt Poch will not let that happen again. None.

I appreciate his self-reflection. But interestingly, we still had a chance of winning the league for two of those four games. And in three of those games, we scored first (and hit the woodwork a few more times). So the desire was originally there (to get a lead), but then it wasn't (to maintain the lead)? I think that applies to the final two games, but something else happened with the two prior.

Look, we all know that Chelski was a massive massive night. brick went weird there, and we allowed our heads to go (arguably before the match when we were baited so much by all the flimflam they were spouting).

Oh I agree entirely. I'm just saying it can't simply be attributed to a let-down once the title chase was over, since it wasn't over for the WBA and Chelsea matches.

what an amazing season when so many players struggle after a breakout first season. I can't wait to see us sign a top striker (which we will) and harry peeling off him and not having to be the sole point of attack. Looking forward to seeing how he links up with vardy, but above everything, don't get injured.

Which thing? The thing where he said it wasn't important to finish above the Goons or the thing where he said the performance was a disgrace? And why are none of these clams offering to pay for the tickets of the fans who went to the game?

Poch's speech after the game.

It was and I said at the time that we had lost our heads and it was stupid to do so, I was amazed at those who said it was good to see the players try and kick brick out of anything that moved. It was poor and Poch had it right when he said our mental attitude was wrong and it sure as hell cost us.

I agree with you, I really believe that Kane will be a even better player if he sat in behind a main striker and floated around the width of the pitch.

Made a silly tweet IMHO about how fans should see the bigger picture. Very wrong IMHO. I see him moving to Real in another 2 years.
Dude, this obsession with Woolwich has to take a break at some point. The bigger picture is CL, a target almost none of us thought we would achieve and one that would allow us to improve our squad and do better next year. Finishing above the Scum would have been the cherry on top, not the whole fudging cake! Harry just put things in perspective for some of us who can't see the forest from the trees.

The interesting thing about the WBA and Chelski games though, was that we were flying in the first halves of both. So we entered the games with the right mentality, but didn't maintain it throughout. Even against Southampton we were the better team in the first half (not flying, but at least better). Only in the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game were we out of it from the start.

I guess those who live away from London/UK or don't have any Arsenal fans as friends/neighbours won't understand why we should hate Arsenal, just like me. I hate ManU more than Arsenal anyway. But when you see all the gloating and provocations from so-called Arsenal fans, then you realize just why we should have finished above them for once ! Spare a thought for those Spurs fans who had or will continue to have mental torture from Arsenal fans !

Even more so for folks who deal with Arse fans every day. They need to brush it off, exactly because they are surrounded by Arse fans, else they will be constantly frustrated and upset. Just like we are saying about our team that the players shouldn't allow themselves to be wound up by the opposition, so too the fans should brush these things off. The best way to get back at your opponents is to show them that what they do or say doesn't affect you. That irritates them more than anything. And once you're able to do that, you begin to realize that they're really irrelevant. Just my two cents worth of philosophical musings. ;)

I think most of us can and do brush it off - usually. It's not like we are not used to it! But this season was exceptional due to the manner in which they finished above us. It makes their gloating more intensified (not least because it is a huge relief for them and they know how it hides issues on their side) and stings us more when we are hurting/p*ssed off anyway. Of course the common sense approach is exactly as you set out. But sometimes it is easier said than done.
Supporting a team is a wonderful thing, but it is an extremely emotional attachment, and therefore emotive responses to bad outcomes are understandable.

Agreed. Which is why it is always important to take a step back, take a deep breath, and then post. Amazing how that changes the tone. ;)

Ah, but we are amongst our own here. We can moan and groan and rant and rave, use the forum as a sort of agony aunt sounding board - and then turn a calm, superior face towards those south london nomads ,having vented all our wrath here.
But yes, a bit of perspective is needed, eventually.

Anyway, Harry Kane - not bad that lad, is he.

While the system we played with this season worked really well (provided it's built on a solid foundation - fit, motivated players), I do think we need another striker not just to be cover or to challenge Kane, but to make us less predictable. We all knew Kane would struggle a bit more this season as defenses recognized him as a threat. Thankfully, Harry seems to have good fitness and doesn't get injured five times a season like Bale did. His professional mentality and pride in Spurs seems to be all the motivation he needs to be at his best, I just want more options if we're trailing a match other than replacing midfielders with other midfielders.

I reckon he will win at least 3 more golden boots before he retires. The real deal
