Yes Barry, really........tell me what Sandro does that makes him so superior than Barry in your eyes

Imo Barry does an excellent job in protecting the back 4. He can tackle cleanly, his anticipation and experience allows him to make interceptions to snuff out danger, he is effective in the air at set pieces, with the ball at his feet he is able to receieve the ball and pass it on very comfortably. What more do you want from a defensive midfielder?

I know Barry is not young, he is not Brazilian, he is not a joker, a character, but on the pitch he does his job and very effectively too.

I don't think I said he was better than Sandro, I was just pointing out to Gutter that there are players out there who could do a job similar to Sandro for much less than the 25 mill he said it would take to replace Sandro.

I like that Barry stays fit and does his job very well on the pitch.........it would be great if Sandro could do these two simple things. At the movement all we have is memories of his better days with us a few years ago. Its not enough, we need that old Sandro back.
 
If he does leave, good luck to him. I do think he's a little better than Palace but it would be a good move for him.
 
Apparently they've also had a bid accepted for Frazier Campbell and will probably want them tied up before Palace leave for their US tour. If he wants to go there it should happen quickly.
 
Would be really gutted if Sig left. Would be up there with the sales of Thudd, Caulker and VDV.

Yeah there are others I'd get rid of ahead of Sig, but if this is what Poch wants.......
 
I wonder, if the 8m price tag is correct, whether we'll attach a buy back clause...

He hasn't really had much of a chance at a run in the team over his two seasons here and when he has played he has looked decent enough - a season or two as first choice lower down the table could be the making of him
 
I'd hang on to Sandro. He has shown signs that he can get forward if asked to/allowed (or even when not asked/allowed), and with a bit of coaching could develop into a very useful "predominately defensive midfielder than can get forwards".

I saw tenuous links to Clasie back when LVG was linked with us, since then nothing. Cambiasso on the other hand was nailed on to be joining us according to a whole host of news sources.
 
Not looking good for Sandro staying. He and Sig have been left behind supposedly with 'back and virus' problems respectively, but Palace have just supposedly had a bid accepted for Sig.

Seems more likely they're both off and that's why they've been left behind.

Sig is in america with then squad, its Chiriches with the back problem who was left behind with Sandro

That would bring our net spending to about 60 mill.. Davies 10, Schneiderlin 20-25, Stones 20, Barkley 50, Zaha 10. Dream on :D
