Is that your definition of a dive? I didnt see the incident you refer to but your description infers that Malony had the right to get out the way of what he perceived to be a whacking.
If you look earlier in the thread, you will see that I say that if after having dived, a player then appeals for a foul, that is certainly cheating if he hadnt been touched.
Bale dives, its really is as simple as that. If he is getting out of the way of a challenge he gets right back up, but he doesnt. He stays down looking for a decision. Take Maloney as an example against Belgium. He moved as he thought he was getting whacked, but he didnt, he fell, but then got right back up, he appologised to the player and the game carried on. If Bale feels he has to move, then he moves and gets back up. Until that time, he is cheating as he is looking for a decision from a tackle that didnt happen.
p.s. What a fudging run that was.
