AVB-has to be a wind-up!?
Gareth Bale wants to quit Tottenham for Real Madrid this summer, according to reports.
The north London club are expecting their Welsh wonder to drop the bombshell in the coming months after he was made aware Jose Mourinho had put him at the top of his transfer wishlist.
If Spurs are to sell, they will seek a British record £50million for the former Southampton star, who moved to White Hart Lane in 2007 for a fee of £7m.
According to Goal.com, Bale, who signed a a four-year deal in June, feels the end of the season will be the right time to take the next step in his football development.
The 23-year-old has previously stated his interest in playing abroad and admitted earlier this year that the prospect of moving to La Liga would be too good to turn down.
He said: 'If you said to any young player that you could play for Barcelona or Real would they turn it down? Probably not. If a bid was accepted you would obviously have to seriously consider it.'
Madrid entered into a partnership agreement with Spurs last summer, when they took Luka Modric to the Spanish capital, though their only competition for Bale's signature is Emirates Marketing Project. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would demand closer to £60m from a domestic rival, however.

Not really surprising that he will probably be off at the end of the season. We need to get top four and Champion's League to have any chance of him staying.
Could work in our favour though. We'll get a lot of money for him and AVB's system works better with inverted forwards rather than wingers like Bale is.
I dont trust us having 50m. Look what we brought with Modric and Berba money. fudge I just dont trust Levy with the money. 40-50m is a lot but you go out and spend it on two or three players not on 7 or 8.
Exactly. Lots of money will do us no good, as has been proven in the past with the departures of Carrick, Berbatov and Modric.
If Bale leaves, I am 100% confident he will be replaced by 2-3 far, far inferior players in completely different positions. On deadline day.
People think he's worth 50m?
Based on his performances this season he's barely worth 20m, and that's probably a stretch.

If he's worth £20m based on his performances this season how much is Dempsey and Gallas worth? We would have to pay people to take them off our books, yes?
Well Gallas is like 35. So nobody is ever expecting anyone to buy him off us.. 8-[
Dempsey is not worth much at all.
The point i was making was that in half the games Bale has been invisible.. and then in additional games on top of that he's been more of a burden than a help. Taking speculative shots from 30 yards whenever he gets possession.
I'm going against the grain here, but I still think Bale's got anther 1 year contract extension in him. He'll be here till the summer of 2014 at the very least, in my view. He's not ready for Madrid, or Barca, just yet.
And if he's keeping an eye on the fate of Modric, who many Madrid fans are writing off as rubbish just three months into the season....I think he knows that developing his game here for another couple of years is his best bet.
Summer 2014. Then, he'll have 3 years on his contract, he'll probably want to move and we'll hopefully have had a full season or so to find a replacement. Everything'll be lined up for a move.
