Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

Mystery on SC:

Afternoon,

As I said yesterday I was unsure on the Bale situation, and obviously I wanted to know what was happening so I've done a bit of networking this morning...

The reason for the silent stance from the club is because as DL has already said Gareth is NOT for sale, no matter the amount of money, and it's staying that way. There have been NO talks between us on RM, other than "go and do one!"

The rumours of RM making a bid is also completely fabricated by Marca and the RM PR guys, to try and turn his head. Gareth is happy to stay, contract negotiations are still ongoing, the latest meetings with his parents and agent weren't to discuss the sale of him, it was to discuss a new contract. He's been approached by some massive companies in the last few months and he is turning himself in a global brand. A brand that we wan't to be part of, and a brand that he want's us to be part of.

After my meeting this morning, I can categorically tell you that he will not be sold.

Cheers,

M

Re: Gareth Bale

No deal.

We say to Bale, get your head down and work and we'll accept, say £80m, next summer. Write it down.

That's two years earlier than your contract for you, gives us a chance to properly scout and identify your replacement without it being so short notice and us being so cash-rich that all the prices go up 20%, and in the meantime here's a little pay rise for the 'aggro' of playing for little old us.

oh, and btw - here's the letter from Madrid that said they wouldn't come in for you this year.

now go and get 40 goals.

everyones' kinda happy.
We have a winner - that would work just splendid.

Re: Gareth Bale

Unfortunately, yes there is. He could act up and stop trying. I am not saying he would, but who really knows what effect being denied a move to RM will have on him. Can you guarantee he will be the same. Be realistic, how would you feel if you're employer stopped you joining the best company in your field, with unbelievable players and the potential to work with the best and achieve fantastic wealth and glory, which they can't offer. bet you would be tinkled off.

Is believable. Most media outlets have stated Real have not made a 'formal' bid. Whatever the fudge 'formal' means.

New contract, if he gets in a release clause he can leave for an amount we deem acceptable, probably dependent on Champions League qualification. He gets to stay near his family for the next year at the very least.

Re: Gareth Bale

I don't believe it any more or less than I believe the brick in the Daily Mail. Until we hear something from Spurs and/or Bale himself, he's a Spurs player in my mind.

Transfer window closes. What would he gain from 'acting up and stopping trying'?

Nothing. Whilst he would gain everything from getting on with his football and trying to improve his game.

I wouldn't have signed a long term contract in the first place if i didn't want to stay where i was. And if i was that good the big company would still be interested when i was free of my obligations, so i wouldn't be that bothered really.

Re: Gareth Bale

How reliable is this guy? I'm inclined to believe that all that is closer to the truth, than the stuff being spouted by Sky, Talksh#te, The Sun, et all

I remember being on SC for a week before a January deadline day (2011 I think...), he came on most days spouting stuff about us doing some big business. We didn't.

Re: Gareth Bale

Ditto.

Would give anything for it to be true but there's too much noise around this for me. Bale's going.

..or even too LITTLE noise. When you see how quickly Capello shot down Modric rumours surfacing, wouldn't Levy or even Bale say a word during all this havoc if it wasn't a tiny bit of truth to it?

Fingers crossed you are right.

From a business standpoint, the amount of publicity and potential sponsorship that can be leveraged from him staying must be practically limitless. I'm sure Levy and his bean counters have added up his worth to the club in ways we can't even imagine. I wonder would it even prompt some company into sponsoring the stadium if he hung around for a few more years.

Spurs are Bale are world sports news for the last month or more. You cannot buy this publicity really. Thanks Marca.

Exactly, they would make Real (who we supposedly have a great relationship with) look like fools if there was nothing happening.

Unless, this is all a plan hatched by both parties to raise "Brand Bale" to astronomical proportions so that we both benefit.

We benefit from all of the exposure this season, maybe even helps bag a stadium sponsor / then Real take on an even "bigger" start next year.

Ok, so wishful thinking, but it's the type of thinking I would associate with DL.

And Real have to keep their fans happy by buying Suarez? [-o<

Re: Gareth Bale

Levy and Bale should just stay quiet while Real continues their propaganda campaign in all their dirty ways for another month.
With continous media reports stating all sorts of BS about an ever increasing transfer fee.

Then come September 1st, Bale is still at Spurs, playing like nothing ever happened. And Levy or Bale still doesn't say anything.
