Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

Levy and Bale should just stay quiet while Real continues their propaganda campaign in all their dirty ways for another month.
With continous media reports stating all sorts of BS about an ever increasing transfer fee.

Then come September 1st, Bale is still at Spurs, playing like nothing ever happened. And Levy or Bale still doesn't say anything.
Lets hope he doesn't go on September 2nd though.

Re: Gareth Bale

No deal.

We say to Bale, get your head down and work and we'll accept, say £80m, next summer. Write it down.

That's two years earlier than your contract for you, gives us a chance to properly scout and identify your replacement without it being so short notice and us being so cash-rich that all the prices go up 20%, and in the meantime here's a little pay rise for the 'aggro' of playing for little old us.

oh, and btw - here's the letter from Madrid that said they wouldn't come in for you this year.

now go and get 40 goals.

everyones' kinda happy.

Also let Real get over the Mourinho fallout, and Bale's got 12 months to sort out accommodation and learn the language etc. Owen said it took 6 months to buy a house. In the meantime we have 12 months to have a shot at actually winning something, or at least finish above the other lot.

yeah and in those 6 months he and his wife and kid had to live in a hotel.........had he never heard of the concept of renting a villa/house?

Re: Gareth Bale

Real Madrid target Gareth Bale will continue as a brand ambassador for BT Sport, even if his transfer to Spain from Tottenham Hotspur does go ahead.

The Welsh International is reportedly the subject of an £85m bid from Real Madrid, which is widely expected to go through, but features in the BT Sport marketing activity in a Tottenham shirt.

Asked whether Bale would continue as an ambassador if he does make the switch a spokesperson confirmed that he would.

“Obviously Gareth Bale is still a Tottenham player, but if he were to leave he would still be a BT Ambassador and will feature in our marketing going forward,” they told The Drum.

BT Sport went live this morning, and amongst a range of sporting centred programmes, also has the rights to live broadcast of English and Scottish Premier League matches, setting it up as a rival to Sky Sports.

This morning, BT Sport also revealed that Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton would join its presenting team and BT Sport’s Football Conference and Women’s Super League team.

Re: Gareth Bale

I know this guy has posted before but I dont know reliable he is.

But I like Itk`s who go against the wind and who dont post a lot. They are often the most genuine.

Go against the wind?

Most of them are saying he's staying put.

Re: Gareth Bale

It be interesting who is giving him advice on the football side of this deal ,his parents he states in his Esquire article don't come from a sporting background,so their eyes have light up on his fee and what he's worth, his agent no need to say where his intentions are but advice from experienced pros from the club whove had these offers in their career. Looking at the club to be honest every player there will say to him to go,even the management staff will see theirs no arguement,AVB is only in his thirties so one day he's hoping a 'real madrid' offer will come his way one day.If he speaks to ledley he'll state for him to go because how his career was cut short, defoe, walker, holby for example will tell him to go. The only player who could have helped him would have been VDV whose been there. Even other pros like giggs he would have said for him to come to Utd instead,so i wonder if anyone is giving any good impartial advice the other side of the coin of moving abroad.

The only ex pros i have read have all said for him to to stay for another year or two, michael owen, ian rush, glenn hoddle all players who have left their clubs and gone abroad . These players have gone through what bale is going to go through. I hope he knows that he can't just pop up the M4 to see his parents anymore, his mates just can't come over for a chat and play xbox, eveyone that will come over to see him will only be there for a short time ,so his emotional feelings will be all over the place for a while . I've lived abroad and its the smallest things you miss and don't realise and all the money in the world won't make a difference.Mjority of time it'll be him,his girlfriend and his daughter in some villa up in the hills of madrid and then he be away most of the time training and playing. It s not the football be the problem but his personnal life be the bigger issues he'll have to over come.

Though clutching at straws they could offer a similar deal to what they did to modric, tell him to stay a year, then sell him to madrid for £70 million then if we get champs league football or £75million +if we don't. i don't understand why he signed a new contract last year even with no get out clause in it,if his intentions was to leave he shouldn't have signed one,and to top it to say thats he's happy here and wants the club to grow and get champs league football.

At the moment theirs one person who has kept quiet is Levy he hasn't said anything yet, once he says whats happening we know if he going or not,and i wont be surprised if he states he's going no where.

It's all down to Barnet and Levy. That's the battle. That's where it's been for the last two/3 weeks. The player is 'almost' incidental. Everyone knew he wanted to go to Madrid at some point in his career because he was a fan as a boy, but Barnet has been instrumental in allowing Madrid to turn his head.

I think the interesting thing is that if you look between the lines, he has largely been separated from anyone to do with football itself at the club. On tour he wasn't 'with the boys' and he has not seen nearly as much of the manager as before. It has made the head-turning easier. Again, if Levy stands firm and wins it will be quite something. As long as AVB gets his wish out of this situation that's all that counts now...

Re: Gareth Bale

Unfortunately, yes there is. He could act up and stop trying. I am not saying he would, but who really knows what effect being denied a move to RM will have on him. Can you guarantee he will be the same. Be realistic, how would you feel if you're employer stopped you joining the best company in your field, with unbelievable players and the potential to work with the best and achieve fantastic wealth and glory, which they can't offer. bet you would be tinkled off.

It will come down to Jonathan Barnet IMO...if he cools is jets then the whole thing calms right down. But I still think that the player's head has been succcessfully turned.

Re: Gareth Bale

Ffs people deal with it, Bale is most likely going. When has an ITK ever come out with bad news? of course nearly all gonna say he's staying.

Nah i don't think so tbh. I mean of course i agree that itk's talk out their arse and usually know little to nothing (ok you didn't say all that but just putting it out there) but i'm leaning more towards him staying.

Re: Gareth Bale

Steff, where are you getting this stuff that he is being kept from his teammates and from AVB? if so, who is doing that and what has Bale been doing the whole time? there's a video clip of Kyle Walker going around interviewing players on the training pitch in Hong Kong and Bale was right among them playing along with the joke.

Based on a few pictures and videos? i've seen videos where Bale's very much "one of the boys" on tour also.

Do you really think a footballer (and a grown man) thinks to himself 'ohh i'm not hanging out with Walker and Defoe much on this trip, might as well fudge off and leave the club' or that a a week away from the boys can somehow make his agent do some kind of spell that contributes to Bale doing a complete U turn.

Btw if you knew this Barnett vs Levy is the battle the last 2/3 weeks...why are you only now mentioning all of this after the media have said it. Why didn't you give us a heads up before?

I don't think Bale is the type of person to keep himself away from the team. He seems an integral part of the team spirit we have

Exactly.

My sources at Spurs have confirmed to me this morning Gareth Bale is staying at White Hart Lane for at least 1 more season

Although it's still nothing official, at least after days and days of negative brick we have a few different sources giving us good news.

Edit: a few days old, whoops. Was retweeted tonight.
