Daniel Levy - Chairman

We do have a DoF. The same one we've had for a while now.

But officially we have no DoF ;)
So one of the potential scenarios I was getting at earlier then?…. Mum is just a name on the door to sign things until Paratici’s ban is over, at which time Munm exits with a good name on his CV and Paratici starts signing things again instead of telling Munn to sign them.

Possibly. It's also possible that Levy does want someone to be a Chairman/MD to Pararici's CEO.

May also be that Paratici ends up having to "consult" for quote some time.

According to Son his struggles were due to his hernia. There were plenty of times he got the opportunity to run at goal and he just couldn't do it, nothing to do with back to goal.

No doubt, but playing on the front foot and getting the ball further up the pitch with support will undoubtedly help everyone.

We will have both, someone senior and a DOF IMO. DOF to look after the scouting (teams also), recruitment and analytics. Senior role to over see all footballing operations including men's, women's and youth team.

I'm a little stumped as to what there really is to do for somebody sitting between a DoF and Levy?

If you look at Chelsea and City as examples they each have several employees with differing titles inbetween Chairman/CEO and their DoF level employee(s) - the article cities that we are using the structure at City as an example to follow. It says Levy will take a bit of a backseat and Munn will be his man overseeing the seperate footballing departments, meaning DoF reports in to him, along with youth department and womens (I'm sure there are probably others too)

If Levy takes a backseat then his salary should reduce accordingly.

It is intersting. Can he let go, and should he?

Look at the development of Spurs the club. How Levy put in place long-term plans for the clubs infrastructure and is achieving them. He needs to ensure the same long-term approach is taken with the playing side. So much of that revolves around recruitment and development of talent. Of course Levy and the club know this. Yet we've been relatively inefficient over the past few years...looking for instant fixes. If Levy needs to let go to allow someone to implement a long term vision that doesn't flip every year, so be it. But I always have concerns when critical areas of a business do not have their owner's full attention. Maybe that is what is needed now?

No company the size of Tottenham will have one person giving every area their full attention, that's why they recruit others to oversee different areas. Levy will still be involved in major decisions but leave it to others to run the operational side which is the way it should be.

Its the main reason this move has happened, Levy acknowledged in one of the releases that the size of all the operations were so big it would be impossible to cover them all and give focus. I imagine he will sit at the top still with the club split down the middle between Munn and Kline and Football and Commercial. That should give the focus the club needs on both sides without the waters being muddied with Levy on hand to consult with. It was in another statement, I can't remember which, that there will be a focus on the youth development and where if possible there can be improvements made in terms of route to the first team, that will be on Munn to work out. Thats why the role exists, to see the bigger picture IMO. The manager has his view the DOF will have his but ultimately there has to be a joined up approach which isn't compromised by individual agendas but then balances the fact the first team needs to be priority. For example, do we need 3/4 first team players for every position when the quality further down you go in those 3 or 4 reduces drastically, its a burden on the wage bill and it blocks the youth prospect?

So he then takes dividends which would be worse for the club?
Does he? Does one have to follow the other? If Levy is doing work for Spurs then he gets paid (and paid a high amount). If Levy stops doing work for Spurs (or does a lot less work) then surely he should take less pay?

If the Spurs board decide to start paying dividends that is up to them. I would argue that taking money out of the club instead of reinvesting would make it harder for Spurs to be competitive on the pitch and probably reduce the value of the club as we slip away from European competition so that might not be attractive to the owners (it hasn't been attractive to them thus far).

Also we'll be starting the next phase of the build soon.
