Christian Eriksen

I am inclined to disagree. I have been judging him on a match by match basis. I thought he was very good against the Goons last week but very poor yesterday. I distinctly remember him impressing in his first match after signing a new contract but generally he has been poor this season. The fact that I am calling it as I see it after each match does not make him the whipping boy.

And for the record you are right most of the team were poor for large periods yesterday, but the difference is most of those players have a lot more good games than Eriksen

We will have to agree to disagree then, to be honest ( imo) there has only really been the FB and CB's who have been good on a regular basis this season.

Eriksen is my favourite player but he is too inconsistent. Either he finds his form on a consistent basis or maybe we should upgrade on him.

Not even Wanyama? Another problem is that a number of our key players have been either been hit by injury and in Dembele's case suspension

Hazard is miles ahead of Eriksen though. Even the likes of Coutinho are better than Eriksen too. But Eriksen is capable of far more than he is delivering at the moment.

I'm not concerned by his inability at free kicks because even the best free kick takers in the world only score a handful in a season. But his overall play for the most part has been mediocre.

I'd love to see us sign either an up an coming player like Brandt or someone a bit more established like Draxler in January but that's not our MO. I just don't see what Eriksen and Lamela are bringing us this season besides hard work.

Strangely though this will be the first season where countinho will have better stats than Erisken

Poor for Spurs but brilliant for Denmark. Can't understand why.
The English league is notorious for being physical. If I were playing against Eriksen I'd keep harassing him, knowing that he doesn't retaliate in any way.

Modric is different. You lean into him and he rides it knowing you are committed, and then sharply turns the other way leaving you like an amateur. Modric retaliates in the worst way - he can make you look like a proper idiot on front of a packed stadium.

wow, thats a massive number of shots with no end result. disappointing is and understatement
Excluding strikers, only Coutinho has attempted more shots in the EPL this season but at least he has 5 goals to show for his 47 attempts.

3rd on the list is De Bruyne with 35 shots (2 goals) followed by Hazard on 34 attempts (7 goals).

Even Townsend has at least chalked up a goal with 1 of his 33 shot attempts!

Make that 38

Shot Attempts (from inside area) / Shots On Target / Goals (pens)

Eriksen: 38 (11) / 27 / 0
Dele Alli: 25 (13) / 14 / 3
Son: 22 (16) / 15 / 4
Jansen: 20 (15) / 11 / 1 (1)
Lamela: 18 (11) / 13 / 1 (1)
Kane: 18 (12) / 11 / 5 (2)
Very damning, they clearly reflect his awful run of form since he last scored. Would be interesting to contrast with a similar period up to the last time he did manage to find the net.

Great stuff @SteveAWOL . I'm just surprised so many of them are on target! I suppose those include the pea dribbler "back passes" to their goalkeeper!
