Christian Eriksen

I think he just flies under the radar a bit - rather than being out of form. Watching games back/highlights often show him more involved than initial though in the moment...

I do wonder though, if he was at another club, whether he's the type of player we would target for the current setup...I'm not so sure we would

This .. watched the Norwich game from recording .. he played some really good stuff in that game, a lot of the early balls that got to Lamela/Alli who then took the spotlight, and a few that we failed to take advantage of.

I'm not sure that he's probably not a Poch player is a bad thing .. sometimes you need a little variation (even in a system team), flair & experience is the two things Poch has to be careful he doesn't cut out of the side completely.

Ridiculous to say his problem is that he is not flash, remind me, who in our first team is flash? The simple truth is compared to what he has done in the past he has been very average the best part of the last 2 months

No its not you have misinterpreted my meaning, he is not a player who will beat a couple of players or make a last ditch tackle. Maybe it would have been easier for you to understand if I had made it simple for you and said he is not a player who catches the eye. If you watch the game and his movement off the ball ( I guess that might be hard to do on the tv) you will see what I mean.

Nah, for a while I have paid particular attention to him when I go to the Lane because I have felt he has been off the boil, and as far as I am concerned he his all round game has dropped. Maybe we should just agree to disagree.

Interesting, because you have just named 2 very hard working players whose major part of both of their game is their workrate and the way they battle, tackle and track back, which further supports my argument that it is ridiculous to suggest the problem with Eriksen is that he is not flash.
Was just pointing out that we do have flash players. Not everyone is just a hard worker. But I do agree with where you're going.

He's not at the level we have seen (think its a combination of him a little lower, and quality of team in general being a little better).

He's still a very good player that is (like rest of team) young, with a long way to go until his ceiling.

Probably for the best.

I think he's due a really mesmerising performance where he will simply be the best player on the pitch.

My personal opinion is that he has been absolutely fine. He has been putting in solid performances. Can he do better? Yes. Does that mean that he has gone off the boil? No. I just think that he hasn't put that run of games together where he has either scored loads or put things on a plate. I think he is one of our most creative players that we have, and as he gets more experience he will be the player to make something out of nothing i.e. that decisive pass or that freekick.

Alli. Lamela. Which is two more than most teams have.

Out of curiosity why do you describe Lamela and Alli as "flash"? Is it because Alli occasionally loves a nutmeg and Lamela a rabona? The more I see Alli play the more I reject the notion in its entirety that he is flash. Skillful yes, I also think the same applies to Lamela, he did the robona not because he is flash but in the moment had more confidence in his left foot than his right

The main problem with Eriksen this season is that he has not produced the displays we all know he is capable of. He is undoubtedly one of our most skillful players and brilliant dead ball specialists when on form. He can win a game in a flash. However, he just hasn't done it this season - with the exception of bringing us back to draw the Swansea game.

To me he looks slightly haunted with wide staring eyes at times. Almost like he is going through the motions of a player in a nightmare. That is why I am speculating that there may be something going on in his private life we don't know about.

Against Everton, where we needed someone to step it up in the second half he particularly faded and was rightly subbed. The free kick on the edge of their box was Eriksen in a Microcosm. It was crying out for a right footer to bend it round the wall into the unguarded side of the net. A routine execution for someone of Eriksen's skill. Yet he allowed Lamella to take it and waste it. Very strange decision in my opinion and speaks to his current lack of confidence . Something is wrong somewhere.

I agree, when some one posted In the ITK a while back about a possible bi polar in the squad eriksen jumped into my mind.
He seems to go from confident and buzzing to haunted and hiding in the blink of an eye.

Because they're both capable of doing things that no one would expect and leave us with a "wow" expression.

It's been the same problem from day one, when he's not scoring crucial goals he doesn't do enough else to impose himself on and truly effect matches.

He needs to get on the ball far more regularly, not be bullied and make a real contribution, rather than just popping up when he feels like it.

I'd give him a few more games to try and turn it around, otherwise Son or Chadli deserve a chance to start.

I will also now await the inundation of stats proving he's 'hard working' because he covers a lot of KMs... it's a fallacy! He's lethargic and I want to see more or he can take a seat.

Personally I would describe them as players with flare which is a positive trait as opposed to being flash which is seems rather negative.

Yesterday Eriksen linked play well and was in the thick of it for most of his time on the pitch. He is not going to win every tackle he go in for but thats not his natural game. Thought he played quite well yesterday and as @parklane1 its hard to see his running off the ball on TV but I used the tactical view which gives a better idea of his good work.

Agreed. Thought he did fine overall yesterday. Not at his best, this we've seen for some time now. But not bad either. Rightly subbed as we needed fresh legs and out of him, Alli and Lamela he was the right choice. But I think people are being a bit overly negative here.

Par for the course for some, he did well yesterday and for some reason he seems to be the one that gets slagged off more then most.

i think eriksen has been sub-par for most of this season but I thought against everton he was pretty good. surprisingly getting more "stucked-in" and winning a number of 50-50's that he'd usually lose out on. feel sad for him that goal came from him being robbed, but it was still a long way out and it didn't look that dangerous to me at that point. who'd thunk it lennon scoring on the volley.
