"Champions of 3rd place, we know what we are"

He is not a bad player, not at all - but I think now that some of his limitations are becoming more obvious there are plenty of people who look a bit silly after early season talk of how good he is.

I still remember the "Kane or Lukaku?" conversations, with so many pundits choosing Lukaku, it was ridiculous then and only looks more foolish now...

Souness, speaking in The Sunday Times, said: "If you pushed me to choose between Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku, I'd take the Belgium international. I can't separate them on skill, so my preference is based on style.

Kane is a fabulous player, with a great football brain and technique. He's maybe more accomplished overall, but I reckon he sees himself as a part No 9 and part No 10, whereas Lukaku is an outright No 9, a centre-forward. They are rare today, the hardest thing to find in football.

Nobody wants to be that man through the middle any more, running forward and taking on centre-halves physically, getting in a race with them and trying to outjump them. Lukaku seems to relish all that and so he should with the power and pace that GHod has given him.

"He reminds me of Didier Drogba, with his speed and strength. He doesn't have the hold-up play of Drogba yet and is not as cute, but that may come. He's only 24. He has already answered the biggest question after his move from Everton to Manchester United. He's shown that he's not overawed playing in front of 75,000 people at Old Trafford and the burden of that £90m transfer fee has had no effect on him."

That was an old article, from around the time we played them - not current.

Just an example of the sort of brick I was seeing.

I remember a spate of them around the end of August when people were commenting on their fantasy league, and all the sky pundits weighed in...

Cant seem to find it now, probably a good thing.

I remember the ridiculous Lukaku or Kane debate, a few months later he's only nine goals ahead of him in the league....

Who knows we may have missed a hatful and still let in a shocker

Kane gave the ball away last season for their goal and had a poor game too
Indeed and I get what Stef is saying but we can’t come out with ‘we would win games if Kane was playing’ then whinge when people call us the Harry Kane team....

You guys understand that Steff is massively, MASSIVELY optimistic when it comes to Spurs, and feels we will probably do the treble this year.

Absolutely. Except with Emirates Marketing Project I KNEW it was their worst game of the season, that for whatever reason they were not handling the ball with anything like their usual care and that Liverpool were playing at pretty much their maximum. Honestly, there is no reason whatsoever we should not win at Anfield. If we are smart, do what we do well and have our first 11 starting, we will win.

Not if we play anything like our recent visits to Anfield.

And then you are left with Davies being molested by the pace of Sane and Mane.

Do you think they will spend more?

I don’t, I think their are very much about make money to spend money personally

Even with the VVD spend, they have the rest of the Coutinho money burning a hole. We are talking Liverpool here.
