"Champions of 3rd place, we know what we are"

I reckon we’ll draw with United, smash Arsenal and lose to Liverpool.

Wouldn't surprise me tbh but think we need a performance and result up at Liverpool. We are being questioned a lot over our points haul on the road in big matches and we need to start changing our fortunes. Starting with a point at least away to Liverpool and Chelsea would be good.

We are, but generally the only team that has a decent head to head with away results against top 6 wins the league

I love Poch but he needs to be far bolder if we are to finish in the top 4 now, especially with his subs. Hook players at half time if they are playing badly. Don't constantly wait until 70 mins to make a sub. Mourinho once made a double sub in the first half of a game during his first stint at Chelsea.

Try some different tactics against the top clubs away from home. For example, don't play out from the back like it's a religion against Liverpool who press and close teams down as good as anyone. Do something different. If we go to Liverpool and Chelsea and play like we always do then we'll get the same outcome we always get from those grounds.

Think it's clear that we lack creativity when Eriksen is missing or is having an off day and we need some additional creativity. Would love to see us sign a creative player this month but for some reason the club just doesn't seem to like making signings in January.

We need Toby back, pronto. And unless we do really well in the games against Pool, Manure and Goons then 4th is going to be tough.

We’ll have to qualify for CL by winning the damn thing.

think we blew it yesterday we now really need 2 wins out of the next three games to stay near the pack and I cant see that liverpool play away to Huddersfield then play us we are always brick up there man utd chelsea and liverpool all strengthened their squad and we are yet to+

Unfortunately, I don't think draws away at Pool and Chelscum are good enough now. We need to beat at least one of them.

Despite the perception that we are dropping points all over the place, we currently stand second only to Liverpoo in the recent form table. Just out luck all our rivals are also doing well.

I don't think anyone has claimed we are currently dropping points all over the place. And it isn't luck our rivals are doing well, we're competing with clubs at the top end of the table, not mid table battles.

Unfortunately, if (when) Liverpool win today, the onus is on us to win more points because we'll be 5 points behind 4th. So having a point here and there more isn't going to be enough.

Not to mention that other than the game against Burnley, the games have actually been pretty straightforward. Now we have Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Crystal Palace (away) and Chelsea in the next 8 games. Not great really and I we'll have to have done incredibly well (as well as Poch to greatly improve his record away at the other top clubs) for us to come out of that run still only 5 points away imo, not to mention even closer.

Its not done by any means, in fact it won't be done until its mathematically impossible. I can't help but feel though that we're letting it slip.

Indeed, I agree we are really up against it now. It reminds me of the snooker final yesterday, which was a "first to 10" format... one guy was always slightly ahead, so even though the other guy kept battling back to get within 1 or 2 frames, he was always behind and ultimately never got in front, and lost.

Like if you start with 7 heads and 4 tails and flip a coin, the heads will nearly always win due to being ahead... all else being equal... and in recent games we either look brilliant or totally blunted.

Well well well, we needed that result!

Great weekend for the Goons, the w@nkers!

I still think we've got it all to do and we really need this team at anfield: Lloris, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Rose, Aurier, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Son, Kane.

We need Rose and Aurier playing relatively deep and no playing it out short from Lloris. We need to adopt an overall cautious approach.

If we pick sissoko or Dele (who will dance around thinking it's all about him, trying to nutmeg people and constantly losing the ball igniting devastating pool counter after counter) then we can forget about it.

We need some fresh legs, that's the reality. Someone to come in and just get people on their toes because its competition.......and proper competition not gambles from Ligue 1 that have squandered £20m or so, its a false economy.

I've a lot of respect for Levy and he has done a lot of very good stuff but this season it is going to cost us badly if he doesn't attempt to invest. Likewise for Poch, plenty of respect and have enjoyed his tenure but his subs have to be better and don't feel playing slightly more conservatively means sacrificing your principles, its just common sense. If I see a repeat Anfield showing to last year I am going to be really tinkled off.

I think on here at times there is a notion of trying to take a moral high ground and state that being positive and not critical because we are so much better than we were in the 90s is another false economy. Quite frankly, the 90s have fudge all to do with now and I am judging our situation on the now and how that tweak in investment can cement your place in the top 4. Also, If you remain positive all the time, regardless of performance then you do not improve. Its totally fair to criticise and praise players, manager, chairman in equal measure when the situation dictates provided it has balance. And if we sign no one and subsequently miss out on the top4 then Levy deserves to be heavily criticised imo just as Poch will do if he plays at Anfield the same way as he did last season.

I think for the most part we need to avoid getting beat and losing ground. I think Liverpool especially will drop more points that you don't expect but not many more. Its absolutely a DO NOT LOSE game at Anfield for me and the manager had better make sure he prepares and sets up the team properly for the task this time.

Its going to need a minimum of 7 points I think from our next 3 with the wins preferably against Liverpool and Utd tbh.
