Andre Villas-Boas - Head Coach

I am not sure WHO this is linked to. If you're referring to me, you owe me an apology. I have never EVER referred to his tics or any of that. If you want to call a discussion of tactical awareness 'downright nasty' then I think you're overcooking the egg. again, IF you're suggesting I personally insulted the man, you are very very far off base my friend.

Didn't even see your post Steff. Not directed to you at all.

Aren't AVB and Harry BOTH allowed to be decent managers...?
WHY does it always have to be one or the other?

Precisely, it feels like there are 1000 people on this board, but 20 people HATE Harry and 20 people LOVE Harry and bang heads again and again going on and on about it, louder and louder and LOUDER drowning out all other comment and debate until you don't even want to read/enter/contribute to any thread for fear of a verbal windmilling.

DHSF - we may need to take one step backwards before we make three steps forward. If I can see what AVB is trying to implement, and I agree with it - but it doesn't pay immediate dividends, I will give him a season and see where things lie before getting the proverbial axe out from under the stairs.

What do people make of these positive player tweets after training? Players worried about their places and some serious arse licking going on?

Concerned that they may be banned from twittering, so they try and make it look positive?

Just speculating..

Andre's legendary charm obviously working its magic on Myra, Seb and hands-on-hips afro man:

Either the players don't like to be photographed or they don't like AVB already. But either way, the players have no reason to complain whatsoever. After the way they fecked up last season, they should accept whoever is in charge and try to improve their performances this season.

or maybe they are focusing on what he is saying

"When we score, you will celebrate with the bench..."

...............

Aaaaaaaaaarrggghh, sorry, why the fudge am I teasing our new manager??!! I think I'm just a bit giddy and excited that he's finally started and has a laminated tactics sheet in his hand! Sorry Andre, just mucking about...we love you man!

So....seems like our players could have definitely spoken to their Chelsea mates by now if that was ever going to be a negative impact - fair to say that fear is unfounded and they are going to give him a fair shot?

Judging by the pictures they got to play actual footie on the first day of pre season. Come on, real managers don't that. It's all about the running for the first two weeks.

Now that AVB is here I will certainly give him time and will definitely not get on his back - never have and never will.

What I was pointing out was that to justify the sacking of Harry, AVB will have to deliver. Harry delivered results and very quickly, and to justify the changes so will AVB. I will certainly not get on his back if he doesn't though.

I am excited about AVB and will be expectant I just don't want us in mid table mediocrity cos it aint fudgein nice - its horrible.

Several of our players are friends with members of the Chelsea squad, so I am sure that they would have been talking to the Chelsea players last season and would have know what was happening. I'm sure that our players would have talked about it at the time and I'm sure that our players would have discussed what they have heard about AVB before the first day of training. I think that it is impossible to say whether any negative preconceptions that they may or may not have about him will have any impact from that photo or a couple of tweets. Only time will tell what impact it will have, if any.

What if none of this actually happened?

Total mindfudge.

Not really - Milo states with certainty (i.e. 'I'm sure') the above events took place. Something which he can only know if he's one of the players himself (my bet is on Hudd :D) or is somehow linked very closely within the club itself.

I'm simply suggesting - what if none of these gross assumptions (generally made by posters who were never keen on AVB in the first place) ever happened.

But even if some texts were exhanged, be it a footballer or any other semi-intelligent human being - surely you would only judge someone after having spoken to him face to face first, seen him in person, heard what he has to say etc. rather than on braindead tweets by sour overpaid qunts who were benched for being brick?
