Andre Villas-Boas - Head Coach

This!

People really think Bale and VDV will stick around if we finish 7th?

Of course not, but we probably won't finish as low as 7th.

So much can impact a season. Luck plays a massive part. I think as long as we are in the conversation for the top 4 again, that will be good for a new manager implementing a new system. Maximum 4 points off 4th by the end and I think that will be ok.

Looking at the squads, and considering the anticipated investment we will be making, we should be in and around Arsenal again at the very least. I'm sure Chelsea will sign some more players, but I don't think Hazard and Marin alone is going to propel them that far ahead of us. If we aren't at least somewhere near these clubs then there will have been a failure. But I don't think we will be failing.

Or, you look in the mirror and realise you're nothing special?

Some Spurs fans think Tottenham Hotspur is the most amazing thing ever. It isn't. We're at a certain level, and England is above it. Don't have any problems whatsoever with Harry wanting to fulfil what would've been his lifetime ambition.

I can agree with that - but you'd still expect whoever came in after him to match or improve on his record?

I don't know how anyone can say they will accept nothing less than fourth, at the very least there's no guarantee Harry would have gotten it this year just because he got it before, in fact it was even more likely he wouldn't considering how the direct rivals were seriously under performing.

So considering they probably wouldn't be so bad this year, how can anyone DEMAND 4th? I think we should be in with a shout of it sure, but DEMAND it? How can you possibly justify that?

trying to make a point by going to extremes

Ha!

Says the one who puts this:

I wanted Harry gone.......I'm delighted.

Sorry you're not.

Where have these opinions been for a month? Nah, you've worked yourself up into a frenzy and you're now putting the bar high so you can slag the manager off all season.

Good skills.

You were saying 4th was brilliant when hrry was in charge, sayimng we were overachieving.

Now it's 3rd or we're brick.

Your avatar is spot on.

My friend, don't EVER question my support.

But the hilarious actions of the management of our club won't be lost on me either. I could either laugh or cry, and I'm not sad enough to cry over a football club, especially one which makes brick, unnecessary changes.

Been on the gin?

Dry your eyes.

You don't understand do you?

LEVY is the one who fudged him off; it wasn't Harry who chose to walk. Therein, Levy obviously thinks Harry isn't doing enough with the squad and the grass is greener elsewhere. So, whoever comes in will have to do better than Harry Redknapp did, and that means achieving 3rd.

Don't blame me, mate - this is the level of expectation which Daniel Levy obviously has. Levy ain't gonna take 6th or 7th - have a fudging laugh will you, he's got far too much riding on it.

If Levy honestly thinks 3rd is achievable with AVB, then sign me up! But fudge me, AVB has a brickload of pressure on his back, don't you worry about that. And if some of you seriously think Levy would stomach 7th? haha - no fudging chance, it'd be Adios Andre!

Check my posts when Harry left - you'll see the exact same as I'm saying now.

4th WAS brilliant. I thought we WERE overachieving.

But Levy obviously thinks we can get 3rd.

Don't blame me, blame Daniel.

SIGN ME UP!

“I am delighted that Andre has agreed to become our new head coach,” said Levy. “He has an outstanding reputation for his technical knowledge of the game and for creating well-organised teams capable of playing football in an attractive and attacking style.
Andre shares our long-term ambitions and ethos of developing players and nurturing young talent, and he will be able to do so now at a new world class training centre.”

levy thinks Andre will help us long term. so no, those are not the expectations Levy has.

Why? your hypothetically claiming that is harry had another year he'd match his form.

So we should ignore hypotheticals?

It's not hypothetical what Harry would have achieved, 4-5-4, it's fact.

Some of the posters on this thread... Good thing your opinions carry the importance of fudge all when it comes to what Levy considers good enough.

Where are we in the money league - 5th, 6th. That's our par. Anything above that is over achieving, anything below is under achieving. I think that's the yardstick Levy will use too unless our position changes financially.
