in the time that Adebayor has been fit enough to start a match we have played two up front 50% of the time![]()
Including against Wigan when he opted to do a like for like swap rather than take Dempsey off, who was dire!

Maybe, just maybe, it's because the last time I looked it was an AVB thread, yet the man cannot go 12 minutes, let alone games and most certainly not months, without Harry looming like some Wizard of Oz. It's actually funny come to think of it...
Steff do you want me to find and link the Redknapp thread i made in January?
He's got a point to be fair. You're very protective of AVB and clearly don't like it when people praise Redknapp.
Football fans will always compare current players and managers to previous players and managers. That doesn't just go for Redknapp, that includes Jol, Ramos, Santini etc.
Let's be fair, despite Redknapp's faults, he has been our best manager in the premier league era bar none. Until someone betters his achievements, Spurs fans are bound to compare Spurs managers to him.
That's pretty debatable.
Where's the debate?
And again, please this isn't me going into some pro-Redknapp hissy. I just find that comment remarkable considering what we achieved.
The debate would be that Ramos's and Graham's Silverware is worth more than Redknapp's two 4th place finishes
It would be pretty funny to see someone try to seriously argue that point.
Shots on target stats are gonna be completely weird when you have Defoe as the sole striker for most of the season so far.
They're not worth reading into unless you are trying to win a internet argument.
To be fair Steff, the whole Harry thing came up because of someone defending AVB saying he was 'stopping the rot'. I then questioned if there was any serious rot etc. Whole thing then went off like bangers in a bucket.
It's fair enough to admit to not liking the guy (which I don't), but I don't think you can knock how well we done under him.

Most successful - yes. Best? Not in my eyes, not even close.
I don't think he was being protective att all - simply picked on factually incorrect statements.
What does it pertain to mate? I'd be interested. And again, if you had these views, why didn't you once support others who expressed them?
Speaking purely for myself, having read yours and Jurgen's comments about my opinions over and over, I feel that frankly I need to stop now. There is no way on this earth either of you will ever see the points I have tried to make over the many months, and I suspect to you guys (and a few others who have since passed the GG doors) I will always be in a specific corner. I don't necessarily like it, but let's face it, me jumping to the bait thrown out there, me writing lines and lines trying to explain my opinions past and present, won't do a thing. It's a shame we will never discuss this over a pint, because I genuinely think we would find that we agree on many general areas, but the internet remains an unforgiving medium for certain areas of debate. Take, for example, the four clear chances over X amount of games. Obviously I knew the point you were making, and even said as much, but you insisted that your comment was accurate (or that's how it came across) thus I had to mention a Defoe chance missed: I didn't mention that there were two VdV chances missed in that first-half too (one from about 14 yards out, clear shot on goal, no obstruction, the other a far-post 3 yard-out job) or that Vertonghen missed what could be considered a sitter. I mean seriously, when we sit and pick just the West Brom game apart, your comment clearly wasn't true. But you won't have it.
I think this comes down to very different ways of viewing a situation and supporting a football team.
Have I been disappointed by some aspects of AVB's work? Yes. Specifically the fact we no longer play like cavaliers, which was entertaining.
Do I offer him the benefit of perspective? Absolutely. The man's been robbed of quality players and the injury list is pretty big.
So do I get tetchy when people start slinging at him (not necessarily you BTW, this is a general comment) and going on about how he hasn't improved on Harry, and how 'Harry-haters' (!!!) need to hold him to the same standards Harry was judged by when the situations are so enormously different? Yes, yes I do.
Because I believe in supporting the manager for as long as possible.
I did it with Harry (stubbornly rejecting my own frustration at our collapse the season before last) until he finally stepped over a line for me personally. And I will continue to do it for AVB until something happens to make me stop.
I think I need to once again put a real limiter on how I a) read and b) react to people's comments regarding AVB and Harry. It's only the internet and this is only a few opinions. I am interested to know why I find it so important that such opinions be challenged. So I'm going to stop for a while.
Sorry if I came across as rude in the previous pages, best to you as always and COYS...I will be there on Sat singing for AVB, Dempsey, Bale and whoever is representing us, just like I always do...
Steff
tbh the only "factually incorrect" statement this whole thread is you declaring that the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game was before harry was linked to the England job and you providing stats that show our win percentage after the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game because you claimed the game was before the England talk. That is factually incorrect and you haven't even admitted you got it totally wrong.
He may have been the most successful, but he did it with by far the best players we've had since the PL began.
Put half of Barca and half of Real in our team and even I'd probably be a successful manager. Give Redknapp Hoddle's team and I guarantee we don't get 4th.
