Alex Pritchard

I think some of you need a reality check - he's a player with next to no PL experience and has just come back from a long injury lay off.. he's not just gonna saunter in to the first team at a club fighting for survival having just arrived on loan at the business end of the season

He couldn't have been any worse that some of the players they had on show last night. West Brom got lucky with that result but they didn't deserve it.

I think you've just answered the question.......'why the f*ck has he gone there?'

To fight for a place in the team... What did you expect? For him to just walk into their team no questions asked? Are there PL teams he could have gone to where that would have happened?

Still 10 games left of the PL season for WBA... Plenty of time for Pritchard to earn minutes on the pitch and possibly even starts he wouldn't have gotten with us.

Give him, and the loan deal, some time...

West Brom have, according to Tony Pulis, a "responsibility" not to risk the rehabilitation of Alex Pritchard by demanding too much from him too soon.
Albion are crying out for his creativity in the final third, but Baggies boss Tony Pulis is wary of jeopardising the midfielder's recovery with Spurs keenly monitoring his progress.
"Alex has come in and has tremendous talent," Pulis said.
"He was injured at Tottenham for a long time so it's just making sure and I think Tottenham are concerned we don't push him too quickly too soon.
The last thing they want is the kid to get injured again so it's just about being patient with Alex as much as anything else.

He's trained well, he's worked well and he's desperate to be involved.
"But sometimes you have to hold them back and we have a responsibility to Tottenham for that."

You can understand Pullis not giving him time last night. Who brings on a winger when they are holding on for a point?

They wanted Pritchard as a backup, it's down to him to make himself more than that to them. Unfortunately Pullis has just stumbled upon a mix that has been getting them goals, with Berahino and Sessegnon playing around Rondon. If Pritchard is going to displace someone it's going to be Sessegnon and that's a big ask given his level of experience.

I too am concerned. Even when it looked like one of the front three were tired, WBA didnt bring him on. That kinda experience he can get at Spurs. This is beginning to look like a bad loan move for Alex.

Would agree and said at the time I think it could be a bad move for him. He has been there for 7 games and only got on the pitch twice, 44 minutes against Saudi Sportswashing Machine ( which was the first game he was there for) and then all of 8 minutes in the other game.

Now he may get used more often in the remaining games but I am pretty sure he could have got more for us ( up to now). We shall see.

Was it one of Pullis' assistants saying that Pritchard isn't getting game time because the team are playing poorly? Effectively loaning a player to a relegation threatened team is pointless unless the manager is willing to risk their job and play the loanee. Absolutely pointless loan.

A month further on and he has got only another 17 minutes on the pitch ( making a total of 69 minutes in two months), he has got more splinters in his arse sitting on the bench then actually playing time ( I am pretty sure he would have got more here).

Pointless loan and I still believe that.

Repeatedly on the bench, so fit enough to play.

Why would a manager whose team is not safe pick an unfit player?

He's fit, but Pullis has only brought him in as cover in case they get injuries. No doubt Gnabry (who was there before Pritchard) had similar issues. Pullis has his team and his subs (though they rarely change the game) and sticks by them, irrespective of how well Pritchard has done when given a chance.
