Alex Pritchard

Swap him for one of their players..that's posible. I hope we don,t fall for it with Pritchard...

Why would we do that if we rate him and all the signs are that we do rate him? I am certain that he has gone there to get first team experience in the Premier League which he would not have got much opportunity to get with us. It is such a shame that he got injured when he did because I am sure that he would be in the position that Onomah is in now, if he had been available to feature in the first half of the season.

Yes I hope your right that we want to keep him. He had played for ten minutes as a sub and then gets injured in the England U21. It's Ironic as far as I was concerned as I was saying before the season started that he will be our best player...anyway....lets hope he does play for us next Season.
Coyspurs.....

I think that it is highly unlikely that he would have been our best player this season but I think that he certainly would have had a chance to stake a claim in the first half of the season and who knows what could have happened. No one doubts his talent and Poch has spoken positively about him on a number of occasions.

Looking at the bright side here, it may have been that Pritchard getting injured saved Lamela's career at Spurs? At the start of the season Lamela didn't look to good and a fit Pritchard may well have resulted in less game time for Lamela and him gradually moving towards and out of the exit. Pritchard's injury has resulted in Lamela getting more game time, finding his feet and looking like a £20 million + player. That is topped off by the fact that we also still have Pritchard at the club.

I am not convinced that Poch would have risked having both Alli and Pritchard in the same side. I know that he trusts and uses young players but that would have made us very inexperienced in the final third. So maybe we can see Alli establishing himself as a first team player as another side benefit of Pritchard being injured.

Onomah, too. If he got the playing time, because of Pritchard's injury, one more promising talent that got bedded in earlier.

Lamela's combination of work rate, attitude and ability was likely to shine through regardless even in competition with Pritchard for me. One of his quotes in the Lamela thread from back before Pochettino came to the club was pretty much pre-Pochettino Pochettino in it's nature.

Remember Son and Alli have come in since last season when Lamela looked the one of the attacking midfield trio least likely to keep his place. Alli has done brilliantly and Son has done well. Yet Lamela has still prospered.

Hopefully he'll start on Wednesday and will demolish Woolwich.

Interesting that his arrival at the Hawthorns has coincided with SB turning over a new leaf. Coincidence ?

It would VERY interesting to see him taking to the pitch vs Arsenal on Wednesday alright ;)

What we do not know is Pritchard's current state of fitness. When did he last play 90 minutes of competitive football? 8 months ago? Presumably after assessing his performance when he came on as a sub recently, albeit for only 10 minutes or so, Pulis concluded he's still too far off the pace to risk him again atm.

Whatever you think of Pulis, he's in a far better position than us to determine his readiness and stands far more to lose if he gets it wrong.

Patience!!!

Shame he didn't play. The Baggies were dreadful for long stretches of this game, playing at such a pedestrian pace. Fully deserved to lose.

I too am concerned. Even when it looked like one of the front three were tired, WBA didnt bring him on. That kinda experience he can get at Spurs. This is beginning to look like a bad loan move for Alex.

Because they did like for like substitutions of hard working CMs. When they're hanging on like that it's to be expected. It was Pritchard's decision to try to get into a Prem team rather than tear it up in the Championship and WBA was the only one on offer.
