Has there been anything not positive? He's been one of the most hyped south american players for a couple of years and it was see as a big coup for us to get him after that youth tournament he particularly impressed at. Ange seemed to trust him and threw him into a few games. He had an imjury and a bad first loan, but seems to be doing well now.

He's quite a physical player, so it might take him a little bit longer than say a specialist quick player to start dominating against adults in the same way. The same as it did Kane
Show me t(e hype before we signed him?

I watched some of the last U20s world cup. He and Brazil's Leonardo were the two big breakout players, competing for the golden boot. All the commentary was about those two country's next big #9s

I’d heard really mixed views in Veliz in the game
Some think how the hell did he get this move and others that he has real potential
Nothing quite in between which is odd
I like him. Love the commitment he shows and he gets about too but he needs to add goals now at a senior level
Most fans view of players are that they're either world class or utterly useless. Nothing in between.

Ah yes that's a good point.

Yes he does, I don't think he'll be going anywhere now.
As adamant as you are, there has been a hundred young players in my lifetime who Spurs fans have claimed are the next big thing and amount to nothing at this level.

It is likely a seasons loan will still be in his best interest, it's only injuries to senior forwards that are allowing him game time at the moment. Yes he is clearly talented, but a decent performance against inferior opposition doesn't mean we won't be looking to loan him out somewhere he can get real top level experience in the future....

He scored 3 in a home Tournament in which they didn’t make the last 16
You sure he was competing for the golden boot??

He was leading it through the group stage, but yeah obviously they ended up playing 3 less games than Italy and Uruguay etc.

Players do that
£££ talks
Bit when you are 20 and being talked about as Neymar heir. Another year on his trajectory at Benfica and he could have gone to Barca or wherever he wanted. Now he dawdles out his 1 off contract, and will probably be a fat beach bum with a coke problem by the time he's 24.

Every player gets talked about as rhe next Neymar
Maybe that means overhyped and not as good as they think

I really felt for him yesterday. It was a stupid reaction and can’t argue with the second yellow being given (but can argue about the foul on him beforehand not being given and I also think the first yellow was harsh but need to watch it back) but it was such a shame to tarnish his first senior goal, especially away from home in that environment.
Also easy to forget how young he is but he needs to (and I have no doubt he will) get tougher against defenders hampering him. I thought he didn’t have enough experience to deal with being bearhugged and wrestled by their defenders. That will come with experience. Fair play to the lad for coming over to applaud the away support after as well.
