That's a massive gateway to corruption, if you could determine a third party's team selection based on financial levers.

They already do in other ways.

It's basically each team getting what they want. The parent club is getting the player experience. The other team is getting a player for free. It would mean the club loaning a player would really want/need that player and not use them as squad filler.
 
Let's see if Lankshear will get game time before deciding it was the wrong move.

He now needs to step up to the challenge and show he should be getting the minutes on the pitch over other players.
 
I don't know the facts, but am just speculating, if WBA play with 2 strikers and they have 3 strikers on the books, all 3 will get game time due to tiredness and injuries. Even if they have 4 strikers.
Lankshear is the sort of big lump you could throw on to try and head a winner from a cross at the end of a game OR to defend the box from set pieces (compared to a smaller nippy striker).
