You don’t need to be elite to be in the right positions defensively.
Which is mostly where our problems come from.
If you don’t have the energy to get back, don’t go in the first place.
Very good and imo underestimated factor in playing well and good buildup play.My normal seat is south lower
Yesterday at villa it was upper tier and a different view (literally)
When I said about it to my mate the guy behind me turned around and said the same thing
I don’t know if you get that view as well side in like you do with TV
Against united watch how many times Kulu gets the ball behind his left foot so he is kind of stretching and has to drag it forward. It means his stance is physically weaker than it should be. Was massively apparently against Liverpool
In an attacking sense, sure. I guess. Though for me you also need to gamble at times that the team will be able to put the opponents under some sustained pressure and keep the ball high up the pitch for a while. You don’t need to be elite to be in the right positions defensively.

Defensively when we press higher the deeper players have to push up. Front players pressing and the deeper players not following up on that press is just a disaster waiting to happen.

I don't think you should ever be gambling 60 seconds in, as Porro was on Sunday.
Ange Postecoglou has given his shattered Tottenham Hotspur players two days off
Meanwhile, at the training ground today

We didn't even keep it tight for 20 seconds.would have said to the team, keep it tight for first 20 minutes
Vdv may miss the United game.
Looking more likely they botched his return. Again.
Unlucky? Or something systemic?
And relax.fudge off Ange
That wide open pass to the guy standing in the middle of the pitch gets me every time.We didn't even keep it tight for 20 seconds.
@thfcsteff please pause this video at 18 seconds and also at 20s 22s 24s 26s 28s 30s.
Just look at where our midfield 3 are. Look at Porro's position. Look at how Bentancur has 2 men streaking down the wing behind him, but he comes across to tackle Rogers because Rogers has been given the freedom of the pitch.
Just look at our setup, our system, our tactics, our formation. Tell me you have faith that Solanke and Maddison coming back will fix THAT?!
Much of it is because of Bergval and Sarr are still young and inexperienced, having poor positional sense. I don't think we should yet ever be playing both of them in the same team.We didn't even keep it tight for 20 seconds.
