Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Losing Kane under Mourinho or Conte would concern me, but under Ange I just feel very confident that we will be okay, so I have no qualms about him leaving this summer.

Why? I get the faith we must put into Ange but I sit on the fence with your comment. Losing Kane with any manager in place is a loss. Harry kane is world class and we can't replace him alone .... it will have to be a moneybags style replacement with other players having to pick up the mantle ...

However I think I once saw a stat that we scored more goals when kane had been out injured ... so let's see.

Just a comment in transfer thread that they didnt rate him as an EPL coach. Both Brentford and Brighton have coaches with no EPL experience and Uniteds coach came from a 2 team league like our current boss and they've done ok.

I have seen a video or two from some saying "is he the right man" two friendlies into his career.

Albeit pre season friendlies we have scored more the halves Kane hasn't played this season in those too:D

The point is it was daunting losing Kane under Conte because everything went through him, creatively and goals. Under Ange or any front foot system based manager, the creativity will come from various areas as will the goals. Anges system is all about pressing from the front, whilst Ange is unlikely to beg Levy to sell Kane it wouldn't surprise me if Ange indicated to Levy he wouldn't mind him going if he gets the funds to deliver the rebuild. Yes he is world class, but we do need to become a better team and stop the over reliance we have had on him for so long one way or another.

You only have to look at our neighbours who had Jesus up front, he didn't score many but they were a threat all over and banged in goals for fun. Watching our pre season games it will be similar with us, in theory at least....

I am fully on board with this. If not this summer, then for sure he'll be gone next summer and for nothing in return to us except getting to watch him play for us for one more year. That does have a value, but I'm not sure it's worth more than 80million pounds.
However it happened, we're now in this position of having Kane with one year left on his contract. We have to accept that it's really up to Kane and another club to make a suitable offer.

Some fella on Sky News said that losing Kane is huge but there is an element of freedom in doing so which means we can change up our style slightly. Now that might seem abit of optimistic justification but there is a level of truth in it. There wasn't a game you could drop or justify dropping him and in general he played up top alone because that was his strength, you could argue there was no bigger example than th3 CL final for that. If he was in a game and crap you couldnt take him off, he was always bigger than anything else, with some justification

Lots of teams now have interchangeable front lines now in a 3, Arsenal are an example of that where players pop up all over, that's probably more of where I see us going TBH.

Again Kanes a huge loss, not saying he wont be, but there will be opportunities that are maybe only a small consolation

I think it’s just gutting to know we are losing Kane
He has been such a part of the way the team has been now for what feels like an age
As I said earlier, watching his highlights makes it worse
There really isn’t a better forward in the game
But… we can be a better team without him of Ange ball works
And I don’t think he can play ange ball the way that he wants it played

I think the opposite. Selling Kane and having that unspent 60m on Richy given to Mourinho or Conte and with CL football we would be able to attract better players and start a rebuild before we hit bottom.

Nothing is assured but we didn't rebuild and look where we ended last season.

He's also not the same Kane anymore. He can't beat a player like before...look at his early year's goal reels...seems like eons ago and a different player.

But he is a better player than his early years as he still gets the quantity of goals whilst adding other parts to his game
That’s a fact, not an opinion
I will say, as I’ve said above, his game is IMO not suited to ange style of football

This is going to be a positive learning curve for us - though with quite a few goals conceded on the counter-attack as we learn!

"I think we're doing a lot of things where it's because I'm telling them to do it rather than belief. I really wasn't happy with that last five or six minutes of the first half, we were just playing for 1-0, that doesn't sit well with me.

I don't blame the players because they're going at the moment through my guidance but it shows me we still have a lot of work to do in terms of getting them to really believe and be the team we want to be. Which is not unexpected, we've been working together for four or five weeks so when I see things like that, it's a good sort of reminder to me that there's still a fair way to go."

He is right though, I don't wanna get too much into the past but the sit back and hold on invites pressure and as we know we don't have the players for that. Seems the philosophy is to kills sides off, works for me

Manager who is being realistic and its good to see, there were a lot of good signs in the game today but it WILL take time and lets hope we all see it that way and not expect too much as the season progresses.
