Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Obviously today was bad and unacceptable. But if we’re serious about a rebuild and Ange is the manager we’ve chosen to lead that rebuild then he needs this season and next for sure.
And now that we’ve got a good infrastructure within the club hierarchy I don’t think Levy being trigger happy is going to happen. Ange will go when the likes of Lange and Munn no longer have faith in him.
There does need to be a post mortem though on why we are so inconsistent ((or maybe why we are so consistent when it comes to being the gift that keeps on giving, depending how you look at it).
If we are going to keep Ange, then we need to get him coaches that can train professional footballers to do basics properly.

Everything is just so disjointed, the players look lost half the time... Sarr done an amazing run today, played a cutting ball behind the defence, the rest just stood their like dribbling idiots.

I honestly think we have seen Ange ball once, properly. We have see glimpses of it in games, like Villa last year... But full on Ange ball for 90 minutes... Not once, and the players we got are supposed to be champions league quality...

Out problems is all down to coaching, becaue we look as though we haven;t be coached for years and heavily relying on individual skill.

its how often it happens to us thats the problem

every Spurs fan on the planet (other than @thfcsteff) knew we were going to lose today
I hear you.
If it helps to soothe the mind, Barca barely laid a glove on Real Sociedad all match, and lost 1-0.
In the 60th minute the Sociedad keeper pulled out a small camping stove and proceeded to cook a paella for 15 minutes, then sat and ate it for 15 minutes. Then he punched a cross clear in the 92nd minute.

Barca literally couldn't worry the keeper once.

Presumably Hansi Flick has lost the dressing room and Barca need to clear out the ageing Lewandowski Raphinha, Fati, Coubarsi, Gavi, Pedri et al.

Weird comparison you're making. Barcelona haven't lost 5 out of 11 and 2 of those at home. They lost a difficult game to Sociadad a top 8 side away from home. Are you expecting Barcelona to win every away game or something?

Sociedad are an established La Liga team regularly in Europe, Ipswich were in league one 18 months ago.

For me even if Odobert comes in and is the reincarnation of a 22 year old Son
we still have a massive issue on the right.

I appreciate that you don't see an issue with Johnson the way I do but a player who has so few touches and so little in game impact is a problem. He's a passenger, he doesn't beat his man, he doesn't even attempt to challenge his man. His crossing is meh, his passing unremarkable. He does have a good eye for danger and getting on the end of things but I'm sorry that's just not enough at this level and for this team. We aren't not so good that we can afford to carry a player who has no involvement for majority of the match.

When under pressure he's not an outball, when we're dominating he's not an overload. He's only really useful when we play very quickly on the break and there is a space for him to move into, but the primary way Ange has our passing schemes is the opposite of that type of football. I truly wonder what his purpose is sometimes.

Today was a prime example, Kulu moved over to the right and did more (and that wasn't much) in the little time he was versus Johnson for the entirety of the 1st half and the time in the 2nd. Honestly I think he's a major problem but we don't have a viable alternative as it stands. Again troubling for me. V

Solanke

Odobert --- Maddison --- Porro

Gray ---- Bent

Udoggie --- VdV --- Drag's --- Djed

Vic

I would be playing this if I had my way.

Gray as just a DM, a little terrior to win the ball back and do somethign with it, Bent's as a box to box, linking defence to forwards....

I would I would Sit Gray in front of the to CB's providing them with a bit of cover, along with Bent when needs demand.

I think Maddison problem is that he is not in the middle driving it all, and if he is not good, I would invest heavily in a little magician

Almost at the point where I don’t care about the league, we’re not going to finish in the top 4 or actually win it. I just want to win something. Problem is I can’t see us beating Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea in a 2 legged semi final or a one off final.

But then this doesn't happened every other game for Barca, it does for us.

They win the league every few years or more, we don't.

They play every year and can win the champions league... We lose to a team that we should quite frankly be winning.

Yes, everyone agree's it happens in football... But it has been happening far far too often in the last 30 league games.... We nearly got knocked out the league cup by Coventry who embarrised us.

I’m not sure any opponent’s left backs have scored against us this season?

it does't have to be the LB, but the widest player in their attack is the one he should be tracking

if there is someone over at the back, as there seems to be every time a cross comes in, thats the winger at fault imo

Just because he gets goals doesn’t mean he’s a technically good player. And the majority of goals he gets are getting on the end of crosses/through balls. Son still gets goals but you’re not a fan of him on the wing so I’m perplexed as to why you think Johnson isn’t a problem when his overall play isn’t much better than Son’s.
Johnson has more goals than Sonny this season hasn’t he?
He plays the way we’re meant to play
Son looks so uncomfortable being asked to stay wide
I appreciate we have fans who still think son is the answer to some of the issues but I’m not sure what the question must be then…

No
But w shave again who think we should have 10 men behind the ball
We should have wingers playing as CF
And we should never pass out form the back as it doesn’t work
We’re now in for 2 weeks of complaining and moaning about the team, the tactics and the manager
Ange doesn’t realise ig but losing these games before the internationals ranks the pressure up 200% more than normal because of those breaks
And it’s 5 international breaks in a row that its happened

Who should the CB be marking?
Who should out right back be marking?
We should a top making excuses for weak defending from defenders for a start

whoever is in their zone, they have dropped plenty of assignments this season too, but with Johnson its obvious all the time

the opposition are always going to bring more than 4, we need to at least match, preferably have one over

The gaols today came when we outnumbered the opposition 2 to 1
The issue is the CB flapped a header
The right back stepped backwards and the winger bottled a tackle (he was scared of kicking him IMO)
3 players all being hugely indecisive
Weak mind set

I'll give you that for today, but its a theme of our season, an attacker unmarked at the far post

we need to fix that

That because our CB is nearly always out of position from a cross from the left
The ball always goes over him and he can’t see it
Either that or he hands the player off to his right back who doesn’t know
Palace
Today
Leicester
That’s off the top of my head
