Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I wish for once he’d look the interviewers in the eye. I don’t know if because I’m frustrated with the team or if I just find it incredibly bad manners. Suffice to say it overshadows what he’s actually saying for me
It's a strange trait, and does come across as a bit disrespectful. You'd imagine the clubs Comms/Media team would be advising against it.

Sacking Ange would be stupid. We need to learn from sacking a bunch of good managers previously, especially since history tells us we’ll lurch to somebody with a completely different philosophy who wants to sign a whole new team of players. We’ve gone into the season 3 senior players short. It is showing after Europa games.
It's a weird one

We didn't really back those managers with players suited, then given the unproven good backing.

It's backwards.

I imagine he's gone in the summer

Obviously today was bad and unacceptable. But if we’re serious about a rebuild and Ange is the manager we’ve chosen to lead that rebuild then he needs this season and next for sure.
And now that we’ve got a good infrastructure within the club hierarchy I don’t think Levy being trigger happy is going to happen. Ange will go when the likes of Lange and Munn no longer have faith in him.
There does need to be a post mortem though on why we are so inconsistent ((or maybe why we are so consistent when it comes to being the gift that keeps on giving, depending how you look at it).

Issue is though… he keeps on having a team save their worst performances for when people have the most time to stew on it
That’s toxic for him and allows the negative fan base to resume the campaign of noise
I heard today it’s not the Australian league and he is out of his depth.. wonder if the managers of other clubs we beat get that thrown at them
His issue is he trusts players to execute the basics without knowing if their head is the right place to do it. Games like today when some big players need to stand up and be counted they just don’t turn up. It’s the Tottenham way that he is trying to change and it takes time and transfers

Some the people throwing that are saying go for the Ipswich manager!

It’d be bonkers to fire him now. I’m not sure he’s lost the dressing room or anything - some recent performances have been great and it’s hard to do that if the players aren’t behind the manager.

But he’s made us as inconsistent as we’ve ever been and, honestly, I don’t see an end to that. At the airport a few weeks ago against West Ham, one of the regulars was asked by another “what do you think today” and he replied “I’ve no idea. You have no idea what you’ll get from us.”

Call it sexy or anything else but it’s true. We’re wildly inconsistent and it’s down to how we set up and play IMO. We can beat anyone, we can be beaten by anyone. I’d have put the house on us winning today, one of the few bankers for us, and we deservedly lost.

It’s fun in a way, it is very entertaining in itself but it’ll be good enough only for 6th-10th. And I’m not sure it’ll cut it in one of the cups either. We’d have to be awfully lucky to have enough good days to go all the way in any competition.

I don't even want him fired I just want the fans who for some reason can't acknowledge reality to get the heads out from the ground and realise that no, it's not all going swimmingly and to plan.

We can’t keep a clean sheet against anyone. Our forwards also aren’t as good as people on here think they are. Johnson has upped his game in terms of goals but he still can’t beat a man nor does he create, he gets on the end of things. Son is ageing. Werner is Werner. Richarlison is crocked. I really like Ange but do I see this style being successful at this level? I honestly don’t. You need to be able to grind out wins when you’re not at your best which we can’t do.

Do I think his style can be successful? Broadly, yes. With the players he has and the players Spurs are likely to buy for him, no.

I'm also concerned that he thinks a player like Johnson suits his system or that Son at this stage does either. Those are my two biggest bug bears. For the general style and system he plays he has completely the wrong type of wide players to do it successfully and I've said that since last season. The fact he hasn't addressed it is concerning to me. Then as I mentioned the level technique and passing ability his system requires are a within a level of player we never buy as an finished article. The scouting will need to be in excellent form to bring the likes of a Modric or even a Carrick again and then yes his system could work. But that feels like a lot depends upon a lot of conditional situations that seem unlikely to all come to pass.

Said the same thing in the pub this afternoon. No wonder the players don't respect him, he is showing he is as weak as we play.
He’s been doing that since he got here. Wasn’t a problem last year when we were winning.

By all accounts, despite that habit, he’s a very inspirational speaker and you can see why. Of all the problems we have, that’s near the bottom of the list.

What is consistent is that Romero never wins a cross against him
Son never shows any signs of leadership
And when the other teams press us we slow the game down

Every player talks about how he inspires them
It’s the usual fan view like body language flimflam

Maybe the plan was for Odebert to step in on the left but I’ve got big Wayne routledge vibes with him already
