U23s, Academy and Loanees

No it's not a right, they might deserve it but it doesnt work that way, ask all the poor sods on minimum wage, market forces set the rate irrespective of ability and skill. As we've seen this week in that amazing statement that nobody wants over 50's, unless you're an ex-minister or made a rooster up of a public body. I could have told them that at the turn of the century.
So because some people are on minimum wage Perkins should have to stay at THFC even though he’s been offered a better opportunity? That’s weird logic?

If Perkins really is leaving then that indicates a potential problem to me. We have lost quite a lot of talent from our recruitment teams over the years. I think the club need to discover whether it is lack of responsibility, lack of budget, lack of support, lack of opportunity for progression, not being listened to or not being paid enough (or which combination of them) that is the reason for this.

Perkins is highly respected in the game so him leaving already isn’t great if he is actually leaving.

You wrote get not seek, there is a difference.

Ah Hollywood a picture of the real world.
If you're not being paid your worth then seek new employment where you will be paid your worth (or at least closer to what you perceive your worth to be).

This all started because somebody (sorry can't be bothered to check who) was questioning Perkins' loyalty because he has moved from Derby to Everton to Spurs and now is rumoured to be moving to Arsenal. My point was that everybody has the right to try to earn what they believe they are worth. So far Perkins has clearly stepped up from smaller to bigger clubs. We shouldn't question somebodies loyalty because they choose to move jobs to increase their level of pay/responsibility/future promotion opportunities, etc. If I stack shelves in (e.g) Tesco then I will be paid a certain amount, if I apply for and interview successfully for (e.g.) a Trainee Manager role at Lidl then I will likely increase my pay and also increase my opportunity. Does that make me disloyal?

We're keeping him this season so that he'd be considered club trained.
Yes and this is really sensible. IMO he is clearly the most talented of our youth under 21s and the most likely to make it. Him being club trained will help us in future european squads. I expect he will get a good loan next season, perhaps even at Championship level.

No, would never have thought it was, just the right to get, like those two philosophers Jagger and Richards wrote "You cant always get what you want"

There is nothing stopping anyone trying though. I find that often people want things without being prepared to do something extra to obtain them.

Is this in reference to me asking you to change my avatar. Because if I really have to I will suck your wee wee stick.
Alas, I don't have the power to change avatars DFL... I suspect you'd still do the deed anyway though right?

And to make this relevant to @K.D.D.D.D.Soc - If I wanted to be able to change other people's avatars I could just moan about not having the power to change avatars, or I could get off my arse and start trying to persuade the admins to make me an admin so that I could do so.

Sorry if I offend you Finney, I was agreeing there that some people do not want to do anything extra to progress, I know nothing about avatars.

Rodon and Spence on BT Sport 3
Spence looking decent. Could have, maybe should have scored first half but blasted into the side netting. Rodon though looking dodgy. Was at fault second half, long pass upfield went to Lille player and ultimately ended up in the back of Rennes' net. Then, at the death, unable to prevent Andre Gomez scoring the third at the death.

Lille totally dominant second half, xoming back from 1-0 down to win 1-3.
