A 25 man squad so you are talking prem squad then?
How many times does it need to be said. Bergvall, gray, tell, odobert etc... will not be classed as in the 25 as they are u21?

It's not just about eligibility rules, its about having a functioning squad with minutes to go round. A 25 man squad has been the sweet spot since the adoption of rotation. Having a 3rd choice player in a position just doesn't help anyone.

While I would like to feel optimistic, our recent performance this window makes that impossible. You just know that after talking to us he will go and sign for Chelsea.

I'm not convinced by Simons. He was a great talent, but the attitude and injury issues around him have been building. He'd be well down my list compared to the other options.

Absolutely. However we finished 17th last year and if, as you say, the squad is nothing special then it would take a lot more than one summer to jump from 17th to competing with the big boys. It doesn’t happen very often for a team to make that kind of jump. Unless of course you rate the team higher than you’re suggesting.

For me success in the league is getting back into the top half with a stretch goal of getting into Europe again. It’s never actually crossed my mind we’d be fighting top 4.

We went from 5th to 17th in a season. Why can't we reverse that?

Stop saying "we can only use" then. We can use them all. As we are only limited to 25 over 21 year olds.
Having a 3rd choice in a position massively helps. We'll be playing 2 games a week. If one player gets injured we can still rotate/sub.
I don't like young players rotting on the bench as it stunts their growth. Experienced players it's much less of an issue.

I too am concerned at our apparent lack of progress, but are we though? All too often we have had clickbait reports all summer, only for our signings to come out of the blue and at the final stages. I'd suggest it's far likelier we have been fed the usual gonads which works because everyone posts it, reads it and discusses it whilst the club have been working in a different direction - All of a sudden something credible by Ornstein breaks and we all go 'Wow, that came out of nowhere' when in reality we had been discussing for some time, just not something the nonsense SM streams were privy too.

You have to look back after each window for the past ten years and think if I wasn't fed the 500 nonsense links on a daily basis would I have been any less knowledgable about what my club is looking to do in the market than if I just found out when the club actually signed players? Let's be honest we all know the answer and yet we've all been duped into wasting hours of our lives looking thirstily for this baseless speculative information day after day (myself included). It's gotten out of control....
Chapeau.....the pennies dropped

Not paying any attention to the Simons rumours. He’s going to Chelsea

All these pages saying we’re interested will be used to throw it in our face as a third player to turn us down this summer
I dont think he is going anywhere
His wages are mad and Chelsea claim they aren’t laying huge wages anymore

It's rife in this arena now isn't it

Between bots and the press engagement farming its ridiculous. Grown men though believing it on twitter and having meltdowns is paying a fortune on blue tick revenue though, thats why they do it.

I have said it before my mate who works for Matchroom, ex Mirror said 100% Spurs are easy bait for non stories to rile, influence and farm.........the press have a field day on it and love manipulating things, its a power thing.

People need to engage their brains on reality like they would anything else
