Transfer thread

Keep laughing at your own jokes haha. You have also said he wouldn't have scored how do you know this. come on answer the question you call it fantasy talk but you have no idea either. We will never know if he would have scored yesterday because he wasn't at the club. Again you can't say he wouldn't have scored & I can't say he would have but somehow I talk fantasy & you don't. Still not able to answer the question who is replacing his goals.
I didn't say he wouldn't have scored I asked why you were so certain he would have.

Because Kudus didn't get injured until yesterday. He has also made 17 appearances in the 20 games this season so I've no idea what you've been watching??

He could've come on in place of Richi, we could've moved Muani to number 9 and continued our press instead of dropping off into a low block because our legs had gone (though of course it may be that our legs hadn't gone and it was just us playing to the manager's instructions, I think some on here think the former and some the latter).

Your claim. I'm asking how come up to the 19th game of the season Johnson was never used in that way. Why would that now be likely? Kudus has previously had a spell out injured.

Because it fits the narrative of Johnson being a GHod and we should never have sold him.
Nobody is calling Johnson a GHod. Some of us are just a bit baffled as to why we would sell a player who has made lots of appearances for our first team this season so early in the window without having a replacement in the door, or even lined up. A few of us also said (prior to him getting injured) that we were worried about Kudus’ levels of fatigue and likelihood of getting injured as the number of minutes he was playing was too high and he was clearly working less hard in games.

I wonder if kudus was already carrying an injury before Sunday’s game? He seems to have lost pace and is checking back when he would have previously marauded down the ring. It’s much easier for opposition players to catch up to him than when he first joined
I think he was feeling seriously fatigued and managing that himself (the alternative is that Frank has gone even more negative in recent weeks and instructed him to always slow the play down)

No doubt Johnson could have been a useful option, particularly with this number of attacking players missing.

At the same time, for me at least, if the plan always was to sell him this month and the deal was there to be made I think it's fine to pull the trigger and move on to other business.

Outgoings (loans and Johnson) has been what we've been able to do so far. Think the club is well aware of the registration issues and getting players out is important to be able to bring players in.

Do hope we bring in someone really good though. We need someone to give us a lift.

I think there were rumours of us lining up Ndiaye from Everton back in October.
Imo he'd definitely be an upgrade on Johnson in that he is more skillful and stronger.
Hopefully once Senegal's AFCON tournament has been completed we can get him in ASAP (maybe Pape can put in a word)

Sorry but that is not true. Below shows our squad (OS = Overseas Player) (AT = Association Trained player) (U21 = under 21):

1. Vicario (OS1)
2. Kinsky (OS2)
3. Austin (AT1)
4. Van Der Ven (OS3)
5. Romero (OS4)
6, Dragusin (OS5)
7. Danso (OS6)
8. Davies (AT2)
9. Udogie (OS7)
10. Spence (AT3
11. Porro (OS8)
12. Palhinha (OS9)
13. Bissouma (OS10)
13. Bergval (U21 1)
13. Gray (U21 2)
14. Sarr (OS11)
15. Bentancur (OS12)
16. Simmons (OS13)
17. Kulusevski (OS14)
18. Maddison (AT4)
18. Odobert (U21 3)
19. Kudus (OS15)
20. Solanke (AT5)
20. Tel (U21 4)
21. Richarlison (OS16)
22. Muani (OS17)
22. Scarlett (U21 5)

With Johnson here we still had 2 places we could've filled in our squad and that is assuming we register every single player above when we know that Maddison is likely out for the whole season. All Johnson going does is allow us to sign new 3 players over the age of 21 instead of 2 - but all of those players would have to be association trained. It is a fallacy that we need to make space for new players, we have also been seriously trimming the wage bill these last few years so getting Johnson's modest wages off the wage bill shouldn't have been a necessity.

Danso's HG isn't he? He came through at MK Dons and then Reading

HG for PL but not for CL.
That's a misconception. There is no such thing as "home grown". Danso is assosiation trained in the CL too, but we can only name 4 as assosiation trained. We have plenty in that category, but we struggle with club trained players for the CL. We have only 1 out of 4 spots covered there.

Believe we get some self correction next season, Gray & Bergvall become club trained
