Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

Might as well put this here as well....

I’m just going to pass on what I’ve been told by a spurs supporting old school friend of mine last sunday;

He said that he had been told by his brother (who works in the ‘sports industry’) that Bale will be sold to Madrid for £80M. He said that Madrid are just waiting for their new manager to be appointed and then it will be announced.
I said I didn’t believe it and he just said ‘remember where you heard it first…’
I then asked him who his brother supported; he used to be a Spurs fan but was now a Gooner! There’s your answer then I said; clearly on a wind up.

I then went back to him today and asked him what he himself believed (and I reminded him that I had a bet with two Gooners that Bale stays otherwise I have to buy two sets of lunches for a week…). He said in his opinion Bale is off and that his brother would not wind him up like that…

Well.. for starters, Madrid have stated via Zidane that they will if need be smash the record. That record is 80m.. so they would have equalled it only. They are having you on.

‘sports industry’ is he a PE teacher!

That was my first thought by my old schoolmate insists that his brother wouldn't wind him up like this....hopefully it IS a major wind-up[-o<

If it IS true that says to me that the AVB-Levy/Board relationship will seriously be strained after all his 'the board have assured me he wont be sold even if we don't get CL' quotes....

His brother is an utter skidmark. Changing teams is a no-no, and to go from Spurs to Goons or Vice-versa, no chance.

Holding midfielder from Cagliari.
Belgian player with Indonesian roots. He even got called up last and had a decent season in Serie A from what I heard.
 
I read his Wiki-page and saw the videos at youtube, so I was basically expecting Mumorn or GB to give me a detailed version of his high school years, eating habits and favourite movies.

Anyway, not much to go after by the videos, but now that the name is mentioned in the press I need to keep an eye out for the guy.
 
I like that we're looking for a Sandro backup. I like Parker, but he's just not in the same mould, nor as good as he was last season.
 
Jake Livermore to be sold then?

I thought AVB liked him. (I'm definitely not against this potential upgrade though)

He seemed to fade out of the picture completely towards the end of the season as Holtby arrived and Siggy and Carroll became more involved.

I think we can probably offload Livermore and not replace him. I think we'll only get another DM if Parker does as well.

For me this isn't a priority this window, and would be definitely secondary to upgrading on Hudd as our ballplaying/creative CM.
