Tottenham Hotspur V IF Elfsborg

Are we in trouble in the league? Yes.

So we think that with our full team we can't get enough wins to pull us up the table? I believe so and we have a 7pt gap over the bottom three.

February is going to be a big month. Lots of players coming back. They will have had a rest.

Imo id like us to go out with the best we can pull together to win in Thursday. That said we can still use a couple more of the squad to help.

Play Lanshear up front with Moore. We can afford to play youth in less vulnerable positions. Biss if fit rested whilst out.

I'm as distraught as the next guy. But I still have hope. This could end up being a crazy season. We get our players back fit and rested for the run in. We have a chance in three cup competitions.

Have faith our players coming back will pull us away from the bottom of the league.

Survive the season and finish wherever. Win the UEFA cup and then champion League next season.

I'd be fudging amazed if Ange makes it out of February, Brentford, United & City in league, could be another 3 losses.

We have Ipswich, Wolves, Southampton (H), Palace (H) left, that all need to be wins now, win those and we are ok .. don't and I just don't see a way out.

We keep saying that though, or maybe I'm just saying it to myself in my head, "if he loses this one he's toast" - but he's still here! Hard to really predict what they're thinking. If the results continue we need to push the alarm button at some point. I was sure Leicester was going to be it.

Same, but another month of no wins in league?

Then we simply have to. Doesn't even matter if players love him. I reckon he may be done if we don't advance from the semi, which honestly would be one of the biggest miracles in the history of football with the state of our squad.

Right then guys...chin up.

Ange is saying VDV Richie Sarr and Biss are all good for tomorrow

Then they'll be joined by Spence Kinksy and Reggie at the weekend.

So we have all bar Maddders of our CMs available. With Deki probably having to be an option for the right side.

But with VDV back, he can partner Radu (potentially a decent pairing) Benny as an option at LB releases Archie to play wherever we care to play him.

Porro has potential to be rested if Archie plays RB or at least substituted...and come the weekend can definitely play less minutes as Spence and Reggie available too.

Up front, yes, we are still limited.

Let's smash this lot ....then all the players can have a midweek cuddle in Feb without having to think about games.

Yes, the current 'we're in 3 cups' mantra can quickly be blown apart with quick losses to Liverpool and Villa.

  • Spurs are unbeaten in 16 home games in all European competitions (W13 D3) since losing 1-0 to RB Leipzig in February 2020. However, three of their last five have ended as draws, as many as in their previous 45 combined.
  • Elfsborg have lost seven of their last eight away games in major European competitions (W1), conceding 24 goals across these eight games.
  • Tottenham’s UEFA Europa League games this season have seen 213 shots (92 for, 121 against), with only Galatasaray’s (217) and Besiktas’ (214) witnessing more.

Van de Ven is only going to get a few minutes tomorrow, as we don’t want a repeat of Chavski match, so Davies will probably be starting at LCB again and Gray as LB.

We have to prioritise league points, selection Thursday has to be done with Sunday in mind.
Nah, at the very least tomorrow is equally as important as Sunday. If we win tomorrow we are guaranteed 2 weeks without a midweek match. With our injury ravaged squad that is critical.

If we lose Sunday, we might not be playing real football next season.

So what is the body count for Elfsborg.....15?

Austin, Forster, Porro, Dragusin, VDV, Davies, Gray, Biss, Bents, Sarr, Berg, Kulu, Moore, Sonny, Lankshear.

3 outfield subs, if Ange will use Lanks.
