Re: Temporary Tim

are you being for real?

For the first 30 minutes it didn't work for sure but after that they couldn't get the ball of us. We tactically outclassed them and it was a joy to watch.

It completely lacked discipline and control. It reminded me of us in the 90s, or any championship game today.

Re: Temporary Tim

So why didnt he put Sandro's ready made replacement in Capoue there instead ie an actual DM?

As the other poster said - I think Capoue needed a rest. Tim is a bit more intelligent than you guys give him credit for. Bentaleb came on and performed and did what Capoue would have done. Before that Dembele got a grasp of the midfield. Youre concentrating on the first 20 mins when we were all at sixes and sevens.

Apart from the last ten mins and teh first ten - Southampton didnt really create many chances

Re: Temporary Tim

Taking the **** surely? A good result. no a great result, but that doesn't change the fact that he's a bit of a thick 'arry ****ney. I doubt he's ever spoken well.

really?!! no one has won at that ground and the saints had the best defensive record in the league

you dont think going there and bossing them and winning isnt a great result..,....especially after the sacking of AVB?

oh well, i think it is a ****ING IMMENSE RESULT!!!

we'll have to agree to disagree on the size of importance of that win...away to southampton...in a veru tough and turbulent week..with all that pressure and eyes on us

Re: Temporary Tim

Capoue definitely needed a break after his last few shaky performances...

Shaky performances at CB. He hasn't long been back from injury so shouldnt really be needing a break. Anyway plenty of games to come so Im sure he'll be getting some game time....

Re: Temporary Tim

I thought he came across well in the interview. He's a sharp one, he knows what's what, and I still don't get the spite against him. Will be a very interesting time over the next month or so.

I think its the manner of the performance that plays more of a significant part of why people are happier. We werent great, what do we expect after less than a week in charge?, but we looked more cohesive up front and over time our players will start showing why we paid so much for them. Defensively we are shakey and I agree but we were like that before Tim came on board.

We played with DMs against Liverscum and Emirates Marketing Project and look how those turned out - haha.

Given we had played 8 of the top 10 before today and had picked up a grand total of 3 points...to win away at the 9th placed club is a more than good result.

People like you, scaramanga and to a lesser extent GB judge a manager solely on how they articulate themselves. I prefer to judge based on style of play and what i see on the pitch.

This. He aint that stupid and I dont get why no one likes him. From north London aswel, played for the club, been here for 9 years, seems to love the club... Who else?

No Im very much pro Tim, I was just surprised that Capoue wasnt selected. I think Tim is very much in the Redknapp mould, and that actually is what we need. I remember when Redknapp said not long after leaving that football is a very simple game and many managers overcomplicate it and I dont think he could be more right and we sometimes get a bit too caught up in all the continental sexyness when really we should just stick to what we're good at.

Id like to see Tim have the job until the summer, so we can see how he does with a quantifiable amount of games to judge him on and then we can make a move for whoever our main target is in the summer whether it ends up being Tim or someone external....

seems like a mans man.........

os it me but he seems very Brian Clough...ish in his interviews......straight talking.....a bit bolshy......confident in his skin and his views.

Re: Temporary Tim

I think he's just an honest working class fella. So ****ing what? Seems some on here want some toast master at the club picking the team.
Well done Tim!

Re: Temporary Tim

Bottom line is that he has clearly been paying close attention to events with the first team this season. If we are going temporary until the end of the season why change Sherwood for someone who'll probably take a few games to draw many of the same conclusions?

I agree. Its releasing those shackles and allowing the players showing their potential. I like Tim because he echoes what ive been saying (and others too), those players are good players and just need to be allowed to play and enjoy their football.
