The transfer thread

The squad - https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/clubs/1652--tottenham/squad/
Here's the 23 - Venom, Forster, Austin, Whiteman, Dragusin, Udogie, Romero, Porro, Davies, VDV, Son, Bissouma, Madds, Gray, Bergval, Kuklusevski, Johnson, Odobert, Sarr, Bentancur, Richi, Werner, Solanke
Club trained - Whiteman, Austin (hence only getting 23 slots)
Association trained - Forster, Madds, Johnson, Solanke (you can only name 4)
B-list - Gunter, Dorrington, Cassanova, Moore, Hall, Olusesi, Lankshear, Ajayi, W-Barnett
Couldn't name - Spence, Reggie
It's still a decent 32 man squad for the Europa League. Pretty raw for the CL though.

Next season:
1) We'll have Keeley, Austin, Devine and Scarlett as club trained choices. Technically, Max Robson and Matthew Craig as well if they are still around as they are all 21 or over.
2) We'll have Spence, Solanke, Johnson and Madds as association trained. If we keep Davies, one of them will need take one of the 17 other slots as you can only have 4.
3) Bergval, Gray, Odobert, Yang and Vuskovic will have to take some of the 17 slots because they haven't completed 2 years at the club and can't be on the B-list. Ditto any new purchased U21s.
4) The B list will have Phillips on it because has completed 2 seasons with us and is still U21. The 9 above still apply as will many others in the academy.

I can't see a scenario where we won't be back to 25 slots though. I can see a scenario where we might loan some of the 2nd year purchased players to free up more overseas slots and match with the PL configuration. When all those U21s complete 2 years at the club in 26/27, we'll have loads of slots.

Doesn't answer you question about whether we'd be better off with a KWP, Edwards or Cirkin rather than the 4 club trained named above. As it goes, I wouldn't. Devine or Scarlett might become Spurs greats. In my opinion, KWP and Edwards never will. I'm not sure about Cirkin though.
Whenever I watched Edwards he falters to deceive.

Cirkin will be a prem player if he does not get unlucky with injuries. I like him, whether he is like Adam Smith at Bournemouth or has a higher ceiling it is hard to tell.

The great thing with us these days is we don't really hear of players before we sign them.
Agreed. If there are any rumours floating around now I'd be almost 100% certain that they're not saying anything credible about us being close to a deal (at this point).

Anything before the last week of December, or more likely the start of January, would probably not be worth listening to.
Apparently we are triggering another year for Ben Davies, Not sure if its been mentioned on here somewhere already
I think that's a solid decision if true.

Yeah, it's how I feel. No Spurs fans ever mention that Edwards lost his place to Trincao last season and has never got it back. He now has to play out of position if he plays. Trincao has played for Amorin at 2 clubs. Out of contract in 2026, and I guess we all know where his next club will be.

Can't see anyone wanting to join us, I've read on here we're an inconsistent team with naive manager who's going to get the sack and evil owners.
Any player that would earn significantly more money playing for us than they do at present would want to join us. That therefore means anyone from the PL other than the other members of the big six and perhaps Villa and Saudi Sportswashing Machine, anyone from clubs other than PSG in France, anyone from all bar the top 2 or 3 clubs in Italy, anyone other than Bayern or Dortmund in Germany, anyone other than players at Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in Spain and also any player at pretty much any other club in the World (other than Saudi clubs perhaps).

But we're rubbish

Not sure what you’re on about but 99% of players just take the biggest pay cheque.

The sort of world class players our fans want, ones who never have a bad game and can guarantee we win every game, anybody else are just mercenaries or cheap Levy buys. Whatever happens in transfer window at least 50% wont like it and by end of season it will be 90% if we dont win something or qualify for CL.

Prefect left side player for us
But we do have a few coming through
Is Jamie Gittens
Would cost a lot but would tick a huge amount of boxes

Would rather we developed our young ones. Know it will take a couple of seasons but I find it more satisfying
Speaking of which.
This guy https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/teams/men-u21/players/yusuf-akhamrich/ reminds me a lot of Noni Madueke.
Tall, powerful but rangey (not stocky). Powers down the wing. Can score. Not the most prolific, but got a hattrick yesterday.
I actually don't particularly like Madueke, he looks stiff and predictable. He doesn't have cunning skills to twist and turn, but he does get results with his powerful runs and driving into the box.
