The transfer thread

Offer scbc £40m for dibbling and lankshear on loan next season
They keep him the second half of the season and we get him in the summer
Looked a great talent and player against us. Their only bright spot. Looking that good in a team struggling that much at 18 is really impressive.

But I think our priorities should be elsewhere this January. Unless we can afford a deal like that on top of what else we want to do we really should focus on getting Ange some solutions that can be expected to hit the ground more or less running.

He is a left or right sided wide player and can also play 10
To me… that’s an are we have issues with
We have 3 well played players who can’t play there for varying reasons long term

I'm not sure we should touch Skriniar, unless it's a short term loan until the end of the season where we cover some of his wages.

In the last 2 or 3 years, his injuries have included lumbago, back problems, lumbar vertebra fracture and he's not been available for around 40 games in the 2 seasons leading up to this one. Then he lost his place permanently. That means we'll probably see a very different Skriniar to the one we remember, and probably considered buying in his Inter Milan days.

Add to that his 315k Euro per week salary and the fact that he always played in a deep back 3, not a system that resembles anything like Ange plays.

This is probably a place we should not go.

Fair calls
We need that extra option
And we were rumoured to want Kolo Muani when he was in Germany

Yeah, but different regimes. It's like Bastoni. Conte was obsessed with him if you believe the media. How we could do with a leftie like that right now.

I also wonder whether we should keep stocking centre half and mould Romero into our number 6. He could actually be great there with his ball skills and defensive qualities.

I agree he seems like a player that could be really useful for us, at some point in the future, not even a distant future.

But if we have 40m to spend on a player in January I think it should be spent on someone that can come in in January and be expected to do a good job for us in the second half of this season.

Do you not think that he's equipped to do that now though? He's Prem ready.

I have a feeling he will get flogged to death at an early age for Saints due to his talents. In our squad he would rotate with the others, including the returning players like Richi, Moore and eventually Odobert.

I just haven't seen enough of him to really know whether he's the real deal.
