The transfer thread

He is a left or right sided wide player and can also play 10
To me… that’s an are we have issues with
We have 3 well played players who can’t play there for varying reasons long term

Wouldn’t be surprised if he hit the ground running at a better team. Imagine having loads of ball in a team that has possession and plays high up. Could be the next Palmer!

Palmer was playing CL and league cup games for city for two years before leaving
That’s where I saw him outside of England and said he would be better than Foden
Straight away with Dibbling seeing his passing and ball carrying you can see the key traits of a top player
He is also physically strong
He could be anything in the right team

Dibbling seems impressive but it isn't that simple

I made the point last year with Foden (never saw it with him, got huge brick on this board for it), there was group of young England players with Mount, Foden, Saka, (can't even remember the rest now) that is far more likely that they end up as mid level PL player that be the real deal long term.

It's worth remembering Dele Ali had a better start (number wise) to his top flight career than Jude Bellingham (including Jude's first season at Madrid)

Young players do have a blip season
Normally around their early 20s
Foden got better
Saka has been stable and consistent
Dele had a rise from nowhere don’t forget
Dibbling has been rated for some time which is why Chelsea got him when he was a kid from Southampton
Doesn’t mean it will carry on as you say

If anything it confirms most peoples views that we can score a few as well as let in a few in any game. We'll smash some teams and concede silly goals in others.
Yeah
I mean Liverpool conceded 2 to Southampton the other week and got away with murder thanks to Southampton’s keeper
It’s what is happening a lot on the league this season

Do you not think that he's equipped to do that now though? He's Prem ready.

I have a feeling he will get flogged to death at an early age for Saints due to his talents. In our squad he would rotate with the others, including the returning players like Richi, Moore and eventually Odobert.

I just haven't seen enough of him to really know whether he's the real deal.
I haven't seen enough of him either.

If Ange and the transfer team decides that a profile like him is a priority and that he's the right player and bring him in in January I'm all for it. From what I've seen I think he'd at least be a useful option for us.

I just don’t think we're in a position to send big on a player for the summer in January at the cost of bringing in someone who can do a job in the second half of this season.

You are right in that signings are so much about timing. You do get the occasional great fit for a January signing, but most players are more ready for the summer moves.

I've always thought a great approach is to buy the player in January to move to Spurs in the summer. It helps the other club deal with this season whilst knowing that player turns up for pre-season on Jul 1st, and not Aug 31st. Bayern Munich have done a lot of this over the years with other Bundesliga teams.

Yeah, I think that's a, solid way of doing business. But come January we imo need some reinforcements in the door immediately.

Dibbling will go to Chelsea because they soend stupid money on under 18s as it does not count in transfer spend.

If we want to bring in another CB, it might be worth following the situation with Barca. They have a few players that they can't register, among them are Andreas Christensen. He was left out as he was injured when the window closed, to make room for Dani Olmo.

Or Rudiger on a 6-month loan? Although Sonny's maybe not forgiven him yet.
