The "Official" 2013/14 Other teams matches thread

Top six at the end of the weekend:
------------------------------------------------

1. Liverpool - 13pts
2. Arsenal - 12pts
3. Man Utd - 10pts
4. Chelsea - 10pts
5. Tottenham -10pts
6. Saudi Sportswashing Machine - 10pts

No, they won't. Stoke will score at least once, think it could be close.

Hughes has actually made Stoke a decent team (still not particularly good), but they seem to be hard to beat. All they're missing is a striker capable of scoring a goal and not Jones and Walters to choose from upfront. Deserved something out of the opener against Liverpool and are unbeaten since then.

Norwich V Aston Villa - DRAW
Liverpool V Southampton - HOME
Saudi Sportswashing Machine V Hull - HOME
West Brom V Sunderland - HOME
West Ham V Everton - DRAW
Chelsea V Fulham - HOME

Arsenal V Stoke - HOME
Crystal Palace V Swansea - DRAW
Cardiff V Tottenham - DRAW
Emirates Marketing Project V Man Utd - AWAY

City v Utd banker draw.

Yup, last time out they made life difficult for Emirates Marketing Project. Stoke could easily have won, had they taken their chances.

Arsenal haven't looked great this season so can't see why anyone would back them to destroy anyone just yet. I think they've conceded possession too easily, look weak in defence and rely on Giroud for goals.

Whatever happens, Arsenal will not cruise this one.

I do, however, have a nagging feeling that Mark Hughes has a torrid record against Arsenal during his time in management.

I think we'll beat Cardiff.

Emirates Marketing Project will beat United.

Liverpool will draw.

Everton will beat West Ham.

True but if he played for Spurs we'd be defending him.

I'm still not sure on the Cardiff game. Maybe it's the pessimistic Spurs fan inside of me telling me that, sort of games we'd go into and just lose. We certainly have the capabilities of beating them, but so did Emirates Marketing Project.

I think it's going to be a good game (HOPEFULLY). Moyes has an outstanding record against City though which is why I sort of turned in the favour of Man Utd in this one and what way to pile pressure onto Pellegrini after a lucky escape against Stoke.

I hope so.

I'm not so sure, could go either way though, wont be a pretty game.

With Liverpool only managing a draw at Swansea tonight, Tottenham's All-Time Top Flight record of winning the first 11 matches of the season (set in 1960-61) is safe for yet another season.

Is that our best ever run of games at any stage of the season?

Provided we rest players in Europe this week, I think we should beat Cardiff. Emirates Marketing Project only lost because Hart made two clangers. Won't be an easy game but I reckon we should sneak it.

Emirates Marketing Project have made it clear (so far) that they view the CL as a top priority but I'm still a bit unconvinced by Moyes, although he did have a good record against Emirates Marketing Project as Everton manager.

Didn't Chelsea come close to breaking it under Mourinho? I seem to recall them drawing at Goodison which snapped the streak.

I think Reading though hold the record, through all divisions, for the most consecutive wins at the start of a season.

Yes, that's why I said Top Flight record.

Reading's run came in the old Third Division in 1985 and they won their first 13 games of the season.

Carragher won't last. Too hard to listen to and really just bumbles through his analysis.

Whoever thought hiring him or Michael Owen were good ideas should be canned as well. Why do we get some many **** pundits/co-commentators?

Liverpool would do well to beat Southampton. Pochettini's set-up and tactical detail is especially strong against the better teams. Arsenal really should crush Stoke though - even though Hughes has done well there so far, they can't score and I can't see their inherently defensive nature holding Ozil et al at bay for the entire game.

As for us, I'd just like to see us continue to progress in our fluency as a team, and allow Lamela some more time on the pitch.

Gerrard, Coutinho, Lucas and Moses all have the ability to be considered 'top 4' midfielders. But yes, the others are not up to the required level. The lack of depth there will cost the club a place in the top 4.

I think Gerrard is really starting to struggle to get around the pitch. He still tries hard and has great technique - that recent England goal was lovely - but he's looking increasingly cumbersome and one-dimensional to me.
