The "Official" 2013/14 Other teams matches thread

He said on current form, and I can't argue with that. I could say that all of our defeats have come from individual errors and once we clean them up, we'll be right as rain. But at the moment, I can't see us clearing them up. Without Kompany our defending is comical, Clichy has lost all his pace and neither Fernandinho nor Yaya are good enough defensively. If you were to watch us consistently, you'd see that we aren't much different to last season. And that didn't exactly go like a dream.

It's alright mate, read a few threads on here you'll be feeling right as rain straight away, spurs are finishing 8th this season I read earlier!

We have Everton next weekend. Massive, MASSIVE game. Possibly even a must win.

Saturday

Saudi Sportswashing Machine V Chelsea
12:45
Fulham V Man Utd
15:00
Emirates Marketing Project V Norwich
15:00
Arsenal V Liverpool
17:30

Sunday 3rd November 2013

Everton V Tottenham
13:30
Cardiff V Swansea
16:00

2 true litmus tests this weekend for us and Arsenal.

I have a feeling that the positions after next weekend will not change much before the end of the season.

Well Everton owe us one for that loss at Goodison last season, so we should leave Liverpool with a s****py win next weekend!!

I remember Lukaku given Vertonghen a torrid time when he came on for West Brom against us at the start of last season. I would be happy with a point tbh.

Torres was outstanding today. Best I've seen him for some time. Mourinho has finally got Torres looking somewhat like what he used to.

Torres is a much inferior player to Lukaku. Loaning him out and having Torres and a past-it Eto'o to fill the spot will go down as the blunder of the season, imo.

He's had too many false downs for me to proclaim he is back. Playing well at the moment but I still don't think he'll ever regain his early Liverpool form.

Oh and Hart with mistake number nine thousand and 1 today.

If Torres plays like he did today then no sorry, I'd much rather Torres than Lukaku. Lukaku is a different player but right now he is some way off being Didier Drogba. Torres of old is a special player in all honesty.

I know this won't be a popular opinion, but I like seeing Torres back to his near best. As a football fan, I've missed seeing that rampaging running and shooting of his, which is thrilling. Seeing the dispirited donkey he'd become for a few seasons was painful.

Im not saying he is the same player yet. But this is the best he has looked for some time. He's got a belief about him. It was noticeable at the Lane.

I know what you mean. It's sad to see a once great player not being able to regain his form. I mean it's sad, but seeing he's at Chelsea it was funny as hell.

More chance of me getting a gig upfront for Spurs than the Torres of old coming back. He did pretty well today, but it's only because he has been such a mess that people will go over-board about it. IMO, he won't get more than a dozen league goals. Lukaku would get 20 playing for them.

To clarify my previous post a little:

Torres has got 1 league goal in 7 games for Chelsea this season. Lukaku has 5 in 5 for Everton.

Lukaku banged in 17 league goals for WBA last season. Torres hasn't scored more than 10 league goals in a single season since the 2009-10 season.

No that's fair enough. I'm looking at his performance today. And there have been some good performances in other game this season. Look at what he did for Shurrle's goal today. And when he smashed the bar. He still has some real quality. Very occasionally he reminds us.
