Really?

I thought he looked quite poor. Picked up a silly early card so he had to stop tackling, I think it was him that left Koscielny for the 1-0 goal, lost possession in a very dangerous area at least once and slowed down Milan very often. He did look alright in the last 20 minutes as Arsenal were running out of steam and Milan stopped doing their very poor Napoli impression leaving 3 men at the half way line when defending.

Oh, anyone else see the similarity between Gervinho and the, for his reputation, incredibly poor Robinho? They play so similarly I think, at least today. Perhaps Robinho is actually better at times. Both can drop a shoulder and nick the ball past a player and then run almost quickly with the ball and... that's all.

Considering his early booking which meant he had to be careful for the rest of the game, I think he broke up play well at times and linked up well and played some good passes offesnsively. Make no mistake, he is a horrible, cheating, cynical excuse for a player who knows every trick in the book when it comes to befriending the referee, disrupting the opposition and he is very clever at buying free kicks when he needs to. Considering how dirty he is, I thought he did very well to go 84 minutes without getting another booking.

He didn't stop tackling at all I thought.

He still made a couple of no risk tackles, but he couldn't make his typical crunching tackles. Several times I thought he (rightly) pulled out of challenges because he knew he would be sent off had he gotten it wrong. And it made Milan softer imo.

Again, he looked a lot better in the last 20 minutes, but before that, and especially in the first half I thought he was quite poor/average at best.

Thing is - anyone can go all out attack and play without fear when there's no pressure cos you fcuked up in the first leg.
I bet my bile duct had it been 1-1 in the first leg you'd have seen a shaky looking arsehole team tonight.

By the looks on their faces at the end they're now completely demoralised. Forget the glorious defeat nonsense, it's downhill all the way for dem cants!

There are some bookies getting taken to the cleaners tonight

Took loads of bets from their ****ing fans today. Some fella put ?ú100 at 20/1 on them to qualify and took over ?ú200 on singles of ?ú2 or ?ú3. They were so optimistic it was untrue. Must admit I did brick it when it went 3-0 as they all came in from the pub across the road to wind me up but didn't see any of them at full time.

Totally unfair IMO. You don't sign for the clubs he has and win what he's won by being brick.
I've seen Ibra play 15-20 games but only 1 good one, and that was the last match against Arsenal. I could have just managed to miss all his good matches but to be honest I can't see what all the fuss is about.

He was being disciplined, maybe I'm not giving him enough credit for that. I just think a player his age, with his experience should be able to not get sent off in a game despite being on a yellow. Even Lee Cattermole managed that, even though he got sent off after the game. :) But his early booking was very silly. They were 4-0 up at that point and with almost the entire game left to play. Not the time to make a cynical tackle to stop an attack.

I agree with your description for the last 20 minutes. Before that, not so much. But not a big deal :)

Can't knock his record but you can't deny that when he is bad, he is truly awful! Might as well not be on the pitch when he's having an off day.

Like Defoe? Or Ade? Or Saha? Or Berbatov? Hell of a lot of players fit that description, when the team behind you is a stinking pile of horebrick, what do you expect?

Cheers for that. Very interesting to get some inside info on stuff like that, but yes I can imagine how you would have been feeling at HT.
Just as a matter of interest, I noticed Arsenal went to 5/6 to qualify at HT, what did Milan go out to. I'm surprised there wasnt a few 'cover bets'

I am a little disappointed I didn't see Barca repeat their annual mauling of the goons or actually Real would have been even more fun. I reckon Madrid would have absolutely spanked Arsenal.

I expected more considering he's supposed to be their best player. What did he actually do tonight apart from being caught offside every 5 minutes?

He's been much better domestically than in the CL - true. He was absolutely brilliant in the first leg, and wasn't that awful tonight, bearing in mind Milan were utter brick.

I had a little peek over on Arsemania and one of the posters mentioned a Suarez to Arsenal rumour, which I hadn't heard. I detest the chap now but if he moves over there that will take it to a whole new level.

Zlatan was very good holding the ball up but he got absolutely nothing out of it, not his day. This weekend he was absolutely fabulous and scored a hat trick in 14 minutes. I believe he would score 20 goals in England as well every season and be among the top assist players.

Jeez if he did sign for them , I couldn't start to imagine the hatred he would attract - but lets face it he would be suited there
