Hope Saudi Sportswashing Machine can pull something off against them, might deflate the gooners' smugness at least temporarily.

the funny thing was I nearly went to the game tonight, was offered it when they lost 4nil, thats how much they thought they would win a couple of weeks ago

I'm not sure....once the adrenaline dies they will realise they are still out.

I'm gutted they lost!! Could have done with more games!!!

No one gave them a chance so to come so close will not do them any harm. If they had won that it would have been a blast of coke for the rest of their season. No it's better they are out.

To me this Arsenal team are all about confidence. When they don't have it they are fragile and weak, and can be turned over by almost anyone. When they get a run going they are brilliant.

I can see the logic, but I just couldnt take the gamble of them progressing and then risk them winning them damn thing

To be fair thats how I got my Madrid ticket. Despite going all thehome games, couldnt get one at first. But once we lost 4-0tickets became available, I wasnt complaining

Never thought I'd say this but I was impressed with Van Bommel tonight. I thought he was just a Dutch clogger.

Really?

I thought he looked quite poor. Picked up a silly early card so he had to stop tackling, I think it was him that left Koscielny for the 1-0 goal, lost possession in a very dangerous area at least once and slowed down Milan very often. He did look alright in the last 20 minutes as Arsenal were running out of steam and Milan stopped doing their very poor Napoli impression leaving 3 men at the half way line when defending.

Oh, anyone else see the similarity between Gervinho and the, for his reputation, incredibly poor Robinho? They play so similarly I think, at least today. Perhaps Robinho is actually better at times. Both can drop a shoulder and nick the ball past a player and then run almost quickly with the ball and... that's all.

Credit to Milan for having the balls to halt the tide in that 2nd half, took some balls in the end. But they were poor today overall.

Annoying that we can't really laud it over Arsenal for that. (Apart from the fact they are once more trophyless!)
They will stand with their heads held high. irritating.

He was superb, especially considering he was carrying a yellow card from early in the game. Milan's best player by a mile, which is not saying much mind you.

Ibra was back to his usual brick.

I think Mexes and Abbiati was the best Milan players, the rest not so good. Abbiati did his CL debut 1999 thats pretty cool.

Despite his Ramon Vega-esque clearance to set up the 2-0 goal Thiago Silva was very good imo. Got his positioning spot on just about always and put in some very good tackles.

Ibrahimovic did very well as a target man, kept the ball up and was very important for Milan. Despite not having the best day in and around the box, his passing was very good and he dropped deep to set up plays quite a bit, if not for the beyond useless Robinho and seemingly nervous El Sharaawy next to him he could have had another very good game I think.

But a far better alternative to what it could have been

He didn't stop tackling at all I thought.
