Plus if they miss out on the champions league will they be able to attract the kind of players he will want to spend that money on? No.

If RVP leaves will anyone see them as that great a prospect to return to the champions league at the first time of asking? No.

I honestly think they are screwed bigtime, even if they do somehow scrape 4th RVP will be off, he is 28 and has won 1 trophy with Arsenal an FA Cup back in 2005, he is no doubt a tremendous footballer who at this stage in his career will want to be at a team truely capable of winning the major honours, he must realise this isnt Arsenal anymore
 
I just went through the BBC predictor, got bored at 35 games played.

At this point we were still 3rd, but by only a couple of points on Chelsea (and some way behind the Manchesters). Arsenal were still about 12 points off of us in 5th.

I had us as pretty inconsistent with draws and loses more than wins to try and remove bias.

I had Arsenal as similar, as thats how they are. But credited them with a couple of away wins etc.

Basically, for them to come close to overtaking us (let alone top 4) they need to find title challenging form, something they havent been close to all season.

Equally, we have to virtually collapse. even without being on top form I think we can pick up a fairly steady return of points.

IMO, we only need to keep plugging away, and without even being amazing should secure top 4
 
I feel we need 70 points to totally guarantee a CL spot, the past 5 seasons an average of 68 has been needed, so with us on 49 we need 21 points from the 45 remaining

Arsenal to get 70 need 33 from 45, thats 11 wins out of 15, absolutely no chance in hell of this happening with their mindset and form presently

Im hoping he gets an injury at the end of the season so they cant sell him, then he comes back to fitness around xmas time with just a few months left on his contract and they do not get any money for him if they sell him. That would be the best thing i think.
 
Sorry Arsenal fans. You do yourselves no favours. Embarrassingly fickle. Make your minds up, commit to your club, win/lose/draw. Football owes you nothing so stop behaving like you deserve the moon on a stick.

so they're currently 9 points off us (i'll ignore our game in hand).

so they need a swing of 6 games to go in their favour to draw level: 3 victories for them versus 3 losses for us.

6 games is a quite a large proportion of the remaining fixtures, especially consider our relative consistency and their inconsistency.

of course it can be done, but i'd be surprised if they caught us. they may close the gap some over our tough run, but i can't see them getting the swing they need.
 
I think we can reach 80 points if we keep playing like we have. That's 31 points from 15 games or 10-1-4/9-4-2.
