The Goon Thread

If he scores against us they will all think its been worth it. I remember when they won the league at the lane and he said we were sad for celebrating the equaliser when arse had still won the league. Well i will not mind if he scores against us if they finish in 7th.

What did he expect us to do? Not celebrate the goal? What a complete clam Henry is. Nothing would give me more pleasure than us smashing them at the library and Henry getting injured, then his plane crashes on the way back to America (Ok that one was harsh). Oh and nice comeback "Thierry" by the way, 1 goal against a struggling championship side and a nice little assist for Swansea in the 3-2 defeat.

I so badly want them to finish 5th just so they can experience the joys of the Europa League. My facebook status will be one of the following for at least a month:

The table doesn't lie
Forever in our shadow

fudge it, I'm supporting Cardiff in the Carling Cup final. One less Europa spot for the league.

Better off ignoring them altogether same way we do West Ham.

I also ignore West Ham and don't even consider them a rival. But Arsenal fans have ripped us with such arrogance over the years as if they have been the better team since both clubs have existed that they really do deserve to get coated mercilissley when we finish above them and they hopefully don't finish in the top 4.

Arsene Wenger: Arsenal should treat every game 'like a cup final'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has backed his side to finish in the top four this season but admits they must treat every match "like a cup final".
A 0-0 draw at Bolton leaves the Gunners seventh in the Premier League with just one point from their last four games.
"There's a long way to go - I'm confident we can come back," said Wenger.

"Every game in the championship is a cup final now. We have confidence but we have to produce it game by game."
Arsenal's point at the Reebok Stadium meant they avoided a fourth straight league defeat for the first time in Wenger's 16-year tenure.
But sitting five points behind fourth-place Chelsea with 15 games left, they face a struggle to finish among the Champions League places.

Their last cup final went well didn't it?

Absolutely. Why name the day after them at all?

The original (long before Arsenal copied the idea with their St Totteringham Day) was dubbed St Hotspur Day by The Spur fanzine - it was named after we beat them in that epic FA Cup semi final on 14th April, 1991.

So why not revive the name? Far more noble and worthy of our club than something trashy like St Arsehole day.

And wouldn't it be fitting if we managed to ensure finishing above Arsenal on Saturday, 14th April?

I'm hoping we wont be playing in the League that day, FA Cup Semi weekend...although I wouldnt mind if Arsenal were.

that keane penalty after loony lemon had pushed him over was an important point for us. we were still in serious danger of going down.

think we finished the best part of 50 points behind them that season. how times have changed hey ?

Also, re: The Spur

What a fantastic fanzine that was. I've still got my issues up in the loft. Steve Sedgley on the end of season issue in 91 a personal fav.

I'm not laughing any more. It's going to take a fantastic run of consecutive winning games for Arsenal and a complete capitulation from Spurs to overcome a 13 point deficit.
Tomorrow: We win against Bolton. 10 points.

This weekend: We beat Blackburn and they lose to Liverpool. 7 points.

February 11: We beat Sunderland and Saudi Sportswashing Machine nicks a draw. 5 points. How's it look now?

February 26: We win the derby. 2 points. How's it look now?

March 3-4: We beat Liverpool, they lose to United. Bingo, we lead by 1 point.

March 10-12: They lose to Everton, we beat Saudi Sportswashing Machine. Us by 4.

March 17: We beat Everton, they beat Stoke. Us by 4.

March 24: We beat Villa, they lose at Chelsea. Us by 7.

March 31-April 1: We beat QPR, they beat Swansea. Us by 7.

April 7: We beat Emirates Marketing Project at home, they get only a draw at Sunderland. Us by 9.

April 9: This could be a banana peel game for us, at Wolves. But it could also be one for The Scum, as they host surprsing Norwich. Us by 9.

April 14: We beat Wigan, they beat Bolton. Us by 9.

April 21: We beat Chelsea at home (why not, we beat them on the road and we'll be healthier than we were then), they only get a draw at QPR. Us by 10, and there's 9 points left to be won. Happy St. Totteringham's Day.

April 28: We may only get a draw at Stoke, and they'll beat Blackburn -- but you never know, Blackburn won at United. Us by 10.

May 5: We beat Norwich, and they lose at Villa. Us by 13.

May 13: Season finale, we win at West Brom, they win home to Fulham. Us by 13.

We finish 3rd, and don't need a qualifying round for the Champions League. They finish 7th, and Harry and all their macaron fans say, "Wha happened?"

Erm some of those are wishful thinking, we will have to become a team of utter brick for that to happen frankly.

Lets be honest, we have capitulated before but under Harry we are made of stronger stuff. Fact.

1 defeat is normally all it takes for us to bounce back with a win or a string of wins/draws etc

still its just over half the season gone, and everyone - arguably except Man U - is charting new territory this season. odds are anything could still happen to almost anyone out there. for us i hope we have enough depth - in the sense that some existing players will step up and help with goals/assists, like how we have had in the past few seasons.

Yep - Brilliant 'zine.

Some great writers.

I saw a bit of Stuart Mutler around the time of the SOS (get Alan Sugar out of our club) campaign back in 2000-01. Top bloke.

Shame, to paraphrase a song, that the internet killed the fanzine stars.

Arsenal fans are planning to use bin-bags to protest against the club's poor run of results. Fans will highlight the number of empty red seats at the Emirates during Saturday's match against Blackburn by covering them with black bin liners.

It's gonna be bloody cold on Sunday and most people's winter coats are.. black. Great plan.

Also, they're protesting about themselves being fickle?
