The Cricket Thread

2 1/2 hour drive and I’m here
Staying in a nice hotel on Broad Street am eyeing up a lovely looking beer garden from my window haha

Dan Lawrence leaving Essex for Surrey

Shame on face of it but equally he is not kicking on as he should. He needs to fix his technique not his club to improve England prospects IMO.

Thankfully with Kushi and Das coming through we have plenty of cover

Just checked in next to Ollie Robinsons mum, I asked when I heard the name she said he is so so up for tomorrow the mood is brilliant in the camp and they are going to go at it from ball 1

Forms been terrible this season for Essex, guess his mind’s been elsewhere.

Yeh and I know he was injured last year but it was poor then too.

It's the hunger games at Surrey, he needs more than average of 30 there.

Needs to cut down on the wafting bat and tighten up the technique

Stating the bleedin' obvious it's a big test of character tomorrow and England need to show some steel and belief, Aussies will be their usual bully boys and we have to put them on the back foot.

This comment on the BBC thread made me laugh...

Matt Harris: We don't care about Bazball, we don't care about Bazball, we don't care about Bazball. Australia put 4 men on the boundary within the first hour.

Early doors but we have battered these into the ground in the first session. Men on the boundary and not appealing for clear snicks. Great start

This cricket plays on your nerves....I love it but probably never been so nervous than I have today. One minute you think we are going to blast our way then we get pegged then we go again. Its intriguing

I thought it was great, went for it, would have been tempting to play it safe after losing 3-5 wickets but showed belief. You can't please all people heard Vaughan saying they should have batted on, that's great after years of ex captains and pundits moaning about England not declaring.

Awesome day so far though
Such a good ground this is and the weather is so so good

You might have missed it but it was politely requested that you explain your post on the "sick world" thread.

It may be that the cricket thread is a designated safe space for racists so apologies if I've broke some rules by bringing it up here, it's hard to keep up. It did seem like you scuttled off without explaining yourself though.

Anyways, go cricket!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be fair it's an odd declaration. Firstly, England score at such a rate they will hardly ever need to declare:D especially when there isn't going to be much rain delays in a test. Secondly he declared on 390 odd that's not a particularly daunting first innings total, with the Aussies batting they could easily go beyond that. Anyway whatever, I'm firmly behind Bazball it always makes for great test cricket. If only all teams played that way....
