Apparently it is not the amount that is at issue, it is the timing of the payments. Atalanta have Romero on loan with an option to buy, for EURO 16m I think. So if we are only offering payments over a period, Atalanta would have a cash deficit for whatever period before our payments exceeded 16m. Maybe, our ex-Juve DoF could persuade Juve to accept the 16m on a matching schedule. Bit like a house purchase chain, it'll go through if all four parties want it to.

Fantastic news if true! Now just need the Japanese lad finalised and then if the window were to SLAM shut without us doing any more (incoming) deals, at least we'll have covered the bare minimum of a new CB and new RB

in a twist they want the Japanese lad as his replacement , we have an agreement in place for the boy and not willing to let Atlanta have him which slows the Romero deal down as they want a replacement in before letting him leaves
