* The 'Buying a Tablet or Netbook' Thread *

Just had a look and a play with one of these..

Very nice

http://www.google.com/nexus/#/7

A question, can you read comics on them ??? .cbr files

yes, loads of free readers

It's an amazing piece of kit for the money

not quite perfect (memory card slot would be icing on the cake)

but for browsing, watching your Bolt downloads (I use Serviio to wireless stream HD films), gaming, facebook and twitter.....its the nuts

Quick dummies guide on what this is, how it works please

Install Serviio on your PC

Install Skifta on your Nexus 7

Open Skifta and select:
- Your PC (media source)
- Your Nexus (media player)

Watch your entire library of TV / Films on your nexus

BOSH!

You'll also love Google Currents

Which is effectively "The Sun", "The Independent", "The Guardian", "Evening Standard".....whatever you want to subscribe to, available offline when you're on the tube

For FREE

DOUBLE BOSH!

Also install TVCatchup

You can watch TV, for FREE (of course!)

Welcome to Android!!!

Whats this site like, does it need any apps to play

Is it 4g compatable, what sort of connection costs are there when on the move as it were and not at home.

southstand.. does sopcast work on the nexus?

Im waiting for the 3G version to buy this.. I need 3g for work.

Got myself a Nexus.. Really liking it so far.

Has anyone got any 'must have' apps etc?
I added a few books, movies and stuff but just thought there would be plenty of suggestions on here for things you should download?

i saw some rumours of a 3g version, has it been announced? very close to buying one but making the mistake of not getting 3g on my iPad that's a deal breaker now

i have tethering on my phone but it's such a faff as you need to activate it each time, if i have to take my phone out my pocket i might as well use that

I got my Nexus 7 this morning, the pokerstars app seems half decent, if poker is your thing.

You can also 'side load' apps on android. So even though it says ESPN goals isn't available for my device I installed it anyway.
