re Paulinho

I believe it is agents leaking false information (chelskum) to increase the price as it benefits them, if not the fee then wages and bonuses. Paulinho has agreed to move and is fully aware of absolutely everything, and work started before Confeds. His reaction when asked a direct question is not really surprising. I expect him to be confirmed after Confeds. Be very surprised if this was not the case.

ryantegan regarding Defoe:

There has been a massive intereest in Jermain Defoe.

Harry says its fairly common knowledge that we are happy to sell him. Scott parker too

Breezer on SC:

Just went for a drink with my mate who works at Spurs. I've mentioned his job role before but maybe it's best if I don't from now on. Anyway a few interesting bits to tell you guys.

Starting with the youngsters. He said we have some fantastic young players coming through but are still 3-4 years away from breaking through. Singled out Joshua Onomah as the best player we have in our academy. In fact he said he's the best player he's seen at that age group.

Rates Carrol very highly for technical ability but said he's too light weight and needs to build himself up.

My mate watches the first team train 3 times per week. I asked if AVB takes full control and he said he's a very motivational manager/coach. He's famous for saying Tik Tik Tik Tik. Basically keep the ball moving

They've been abroad with the academy quite a few times and again he rates the German teams as the best! Technically very good and their system is always spot on at all age groups.

Steve Mclaren (yes that idiot) was invited to our training ground for a 2 day course. He explained how the German teams train and how they are more tactical and advanced with training methods.

Spurs spent 200k on equipment that players wear during training and matches which monitors all their levels. As soon as AVB arrived that was all taken away! He believes in watching and judging every player by the eye not using computers. However Scott Parker insists on wearing the monitoring equipment and is the hardest working player at training.

He mentioned that Holtby is a bastard to the youth players. When they play a training match holtby will smash through all the youngsters simply because they're playing in his position! Personally I love that

All the players don't like ADE. They think he's an absolute clown and players are always annoyed with him in training because he gives the ball away and doesn't try.

He did mention a couple more shocking things but i can't really share but have passed on to the mods.

Anyway not amazing info but interesting.
He's invited me to go watch a training session with them in the next few weeks. Pre season starts July 1st. He said he'll get me security clearance and show me around the training centre. Obviously ill try and take as many pics as possible.

I forgot to mention AVB works a lot on team shape and where players should be standing for throws and corners etc. Sometimes take up a whole training session to perfect positioning.

Really? how come we are still so brick at defending them?

Poor decision making/ball watching once play is restarted?

Can't wait to see a central pairing of Kaboul and Vertonghen and a decent and in form LB (BAE, Rose or whoever). Sandro for Parker will help a lot as well.

It's funny, before the Arsenal game (when we conceded from that free kick) we were great at defending set pieces. We had two men on the line at corners and we generally done well, also keeping cleansheets and not conceding so much, but it all seemed to go to pot after that game.

thats why AVB takes so long working on them;

"boys, you get it?" "good".
"now lets try it again"

"no, no, no, no, nooooo" "you're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off. now you've made my voice go all croaky"

"Donna, get that Eurostar booked - i'm going to PSG"

Earth-shattering stuff

Personally dont believe the bit about Ade, you only have to see him when playing and the rapport he has with the players when celebrating...

can believe that he polarises opinions of the players as much as people on here. Some of his team-mates will love him I'm sure, but equally its difficult not to believe that some would think he's a clown

I agree. I remember his celebration at WBA last season with Bale (admittedly, opinion can change, but he seemed to be very popular).

Contrary to that, when he missed his sitter at Upton Park this season, every single player in shot turned away as if to say "oh ffs"

defoe complains the most and gets equally ignored all the time.
and he shrugs off wasted opportunities, even if its bale questioning his decision making.
i'd think he'd be the most unpopular player if there were such a thing

Don't honestly see any player singled out for being unpopular, appears one thing that was true under Harry and is still true under AVB is that there is a great team-spirit and unity amongst the squad. If anything this is even more apparent under AVB, due to the amount of times we ground out wins or draws last minute when the game appeared to be up.

Paul Taylor ‏@PTJourno

David Villa has agreed personal terms with Spurs. We are just waiting for the club to announce the signing. #THFC #FCB

how reliable is this guy???

No idea. Just been looking through his last few weeks of posts and nothing has been as sensationalist/balls out as this.

A few e.g.s:

A few of you asking about Bernard. AVB is not lying and as of yet there has been no contact according to Atlético Mineiro.

Contrary to some reports Graham Carr has applied for a chief scout role at Spurs as they continue their reshuffle. Bad week for Saudi Sportswashing Machine..

Paulinho to Spurs is done. Will be announced within a week after the Confederations Cup at the latest.

An odd one here though (as we were clearly never interested in Ince):

Levy and AVB talks with Joe Lewis must have gone well. Funds now approved to make moves for Benteke and Ince.
